TLDR

  • Andrew Tate lost $800,000 trading cryptocurrencies on Hyperliquid exchange with a win rate of only 35.53%
  • He was liquidated 84 times total, with his largest single loss being $235,000 on a leveraged Bitcoin position
  • Tate’s losses came during a market crash that saw nearly $2 billion in liquidations across 400,000 traders
  • His trading strategy involved multiple leveraged long positions trying to time Bitcoin’s bottom during the recent crash
  • Despite massive losses, Tate promotes his Hustlers University which claims to teach people crypto trading

Andrew Tate has lost his entire trading account on Hyperliquid after a series of failed cryptocurrency bets. The controversial influencer and former kickboxer lost $800,000 in total on the decentralized exchange.

Cryptocurrency intelligence platform Arkham reported that Tate deposited $727,000 to Hyperliquid and lost everything without making a single withdrawal. He also claimed $75,000 in referral rewards from traders using his referral link and lost that money as well.

Tate’s Hyperliquid account became public in June when he accidentally disclosed it while discussing an Ethereum position. At that time, his account was already down $600,000.

Leveraged Bitcoin Bets Drive Losses

The influencer’s trading strategy focused on leveraged Bitcoin positions during the recent market downturn. On-chain analytics firm Lookonchain reported Tate was liquidated 84 times on Hyperliquid with a win rate of just 35.53%.

His largest single loss occurred on November 14 when he lost $235,000 on a Bitcoin long position using 40x leverage. His final liquidation happened on November 21 when a long position on Bitcoin was wiped out just one hour after opening.

Tate’s losses coincided with a broader market crash. On November 21, Bitcoin dropped to around $80,500 during a sustained downward slide.

Nearly 400,000 traders were liquidated that day, wiping out approximately $2 billion in leveraged positions across the market. Bitcoin has since recovered and was trading around $86,000 as of November 24.

Trading Despite Teaching Others

Recent trades showed Tate opening multiple leveraged long positions minutes apart. The positions had notional values ranging from $20,000 to $200,000 in what appeared to be attempts to time Bitcoin’s bottom.

Tate operates Hustlers University, which claims to teach people how to make money through cryptocurrencies and trading. As recently as November 20, he urged followers to join with promises of making money instantly.

“Join today, make money today, buy crypto today,” Tate said. “Double your money next pump.”

While his trading account was being liquidated, Tate posted a video on X promoting zero-knowledge proof-based privacy solutions. He claimed that artificial intelligence algorithms from tech giants would be used to track crypto transactions.

“Right now, crypto is down, stocks are down, but it’s all coming back and when it does, the new meta is going to be privacy,” Tate stated in the video. He faces ongoing trafficking and rape charges alongside his brother Tristan.

Fan Token Firm Chiliz Acquires 2-Time ‘Dota 2’ Champions, OG Esports

The post Fan Token Firm Chiliz Acquires 2-Time ‘Dota 2’ Champions, OG Esports appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. In brief The Chiliz Group has acquired a controlling stake in OG Esports, a prominent competitive gaming organization. OG Esports unveiled its own fan token on Chiliz’s Socios.com platform back in 2020. It recently hit an all-time high price. Chiliz has teased various future team-related benefits for OG token holders, along with a new Web3-related project. The Chiliz Group, which operates the Socios.com crypto fan token platform, announced Tuesday that it has acquired a 51% controlling stake in OG Esports, the competitive gaming organization founded in 2015 by Dota 2 legends Johan “nOtail” Sundstein and Sébastien “Ceb” Debs. OG made history as the first team to win consecutive titles at The International—the annual, high-profile Dota 2 world championship tournament—in 2018 and 2019, and has since expanded into multiple games including Counter-Strike, Honor of Kings, and Marvel Rivals. The team was also the first esports organization to join the Socios platform with the 2020 debut of its own fan token, which Chiliz said recently became the first esports team token to exceed a $100 million market capitalization. OG was recently priced at $16.88, up nearly 9% on the day following the announcement. The token’s price peaked at a new all-time high of $24.78 last week ahead of The International 2025, where OG did not compete this year. Following the acquisition, Xavier Oswald will assume the CEO role, while the co-founders will turn their attention to “a new strategic project consolidating the team’s competitive foundation [and] driving innovation at the intersection of esports and Web3,” per a press release. No further details were provided regarding that project. “Bringing OG into the Chiliz Group is a major step toward further strengthening fan experiences, one where the community doesn’t just watch from the sidelines but gets to shape the journey,” Chiliz CEO Alex Dreyfus…
