La nueva supercomputadora del gobierno mexicano llevará el nombre Coatlicue y supondrá una inversión de 6,000 millones de pesos, de acuerdo con el director de la Agencia de Transformación Digital y Telecomunicaciones (ATDT), José Peña Merino.
Durante la conferencia matutina de la presidenta Claudia Sheinbaum, el funcionario aseguró que la nueva supercomputadora estará integrada por alrededor de 14,000 unidades de procesamiento gráfico (GPU), contará con 375,000 computadoras que tendrán la capacidad de hacer 314,000 billones de operaciones.
La ubicación será elegida de manera colegiada en enero de 2026, debido a las necesidades hídricas y energéticas que requiere este tipo de infraestructura.
