FGR investiga a Raúl Rocha, presidente de Miss Universo, por tráfico de drogas y armas

La Fiscalía General de la República (FGR) indicó el miércoles que investiga al presidente del certamen de Miss Universo, el mexicano, Raúl Rocha Cantú, por presuntos vínculos con tráfico de drogas, armas y robo de combustible, en medio de la polémica en torno al triunfo de la representante de México en el último concurso. De acuerdo a la fiscalía, la situación jurídica de Rocha se dará a conocer una vez concluidas las pesquisas, un proceso en el que el máximo responsable del certamen internacional de belleza tendrá incluso derecho de acogerse a la figura de testigo protegido.

La investigación está relacionada con un proceso que inició en 2024 por los delitos de "delincuencia organizada, en relación con narcotráfico, huachicol (robo de combustible) y tráfico de armas", informó la FGR en un comunicado.

En noviembre de ese año, un juez ordenó la detención de 13 personas, entre ellas una "funcionaria federal". La fiscalía no dio detalles sobre la identidad de los imputados. El anuncio de la investigación contra Rocha, sobre la que informaron más temprano medios locales, llegó el miércoles a la conferencia de prensa de la presidenta Claudia Sheinbaum. Al ser consultada sobre el tema, la mandataria dijo: "si hay una investigación a esta persona, tiene que informar la Fiscalía". Además, salió en defensa de la mexicana Fátima Bosch, ganadora del certamen, que posteriormente fue acusada por otras candidatas de haber ganado de forma ilegítima.

Bosch, quien antes de ser coronada el viernes denunció malos tratos por parte del director de Miss Universo en Tailandia, Nawat Itsaragrisil, rechazó esa versión.
