Puerto de Chancay moviliza 62% de envíos agropecuarios a China

El Ministerio de Comercio Exterior y Turismo de Perú (Mincetur) indicó que entre enero y septiembre del 2025, 62% de las agroexportaciones enviadas desde el Perú a China se movilizó a través del Terminal Portuario Multipropósito de Chancay (TPM).

Desde el inicio de sus operaciones, en noviembre del 2024, el TPM ha registrado exportaciones por 477 millones de dólares, de los cuales 446 millones de dólares corresponden solo al periodo enero–septiembre de 2025.

China se ha consolidado como el principal destino de las exportaciones movilizadas desde Chancay, concentrando 78% del total, seguido de México y Ecuador.

Cerca de 69% de los envíos a través de Chancay provino de regiones del interior del país, principalmente La Libertad (44%), Lambayeque (8%) e Ica (7%).

Impacto en las agroexportaciones

En el periodo enero - septiembre del presente año, Perú exportó bienes agropecuarios a China por 338 millones de dólares, de los cuales 210 millones de dólares salieron por el TPM. Los bienes agropecuarios representan 57% del valor exportado a través de este puerto, principalmente arándanos, paltas, uvas y mandarinas. Los productores agrícolas, encuentran en este puerto una alternativa más competitiva para acceder al mercado asiático.

También se exportan bienes pesqueros (17%) como harina de pescado, pota y ovas de pez volador; minerales (16%) como concentrados de plata, plomo, cobre y zinc; y bienes químicos (9%), principalmente, explosivos.

Para este año, se estima que el movimiento del puerto llegue a 350,000 TEU, y en 2026 superé los 700,000 TEU, posicionándose como el segundo terminal con mayor actividad del país después del Callao.

El Puerto de Chancay se perfila como un motor relevante de la economía peruana. La inversión realizada en su primera etapa ascendió a 1,400 millones de dólares, aproximadamente, y la inversión programada para la segunda etapa ascendería a 2,500 millones de dólares, totalizando, 3,900 millones, de dólares monto equivalente al 1.3% del Producto Bruto Interno del año 2024.

Además, se estima que en el largo plazo generaría alrededor de 120,000 empleos directos e indirectos.

Desde el inicio de sus operaciones (noviembre 2024), hasta septiembre 2025, Perú ha realizado operaciones de comercio exterior a través del TPM de Chancay, por 1,565 millones de dólares (115 millones en 2024 y 1,451 millones en 2025).

En el periodo enero-septiembre de 2025, la importación representó el 69% del comercio total, y la exportación el 21% restante. En este periodo, la participación del TPM de Chancay en el comercio exterior del Perú fue 1.6% en el total y 1.8% en el comercio vía marítima. Desde el inicio de operaciones del TPM Chancay, se registraron 311 exportadores de bienes. Las MiPymes representan el 33% del total de exportadoras y concentran el 8% del valor exportado.

El 69% de las exportaciones realizadas a través del Puerto de Chancay provienen de las regiones de interior, destacando La Libertad (44%), Lambayeque (8%) e Ica (7%). Mientras que el aporte de Lima y Callao es del 31% restante, destacando Lima Región (14%).

Principalmente se exportan arándanos, aguacates, uvas y mandarinas. Además de bienes pesqueros como harina de pescado, pota y ovas de pez volador.
