Bitget has made contributions amounting to $1.54 million to support families that were affected by the fire in the Wang Fuk Court. On November 26, the Tai Po building was hit by a fire that turned out to be the most serious residential catastrophe of the city in decades.

Bitget Donates Relief Money Via Local Charities

In one of the posts in its blog, the company stated that the structure of the relief will make the use of funds transparent. The donations will be handled with three existing Hong Kong charities. Yan Chai Hospital will have access to $640,000 which will be for hospital emergency treatment and rehabilitation of injured survivors.

Approximately $450, 000 will be received by the Salvation Army Hong Kong to offer temporary accommodations, financial, and basic commodities to the families that lost their homes and livelihood.

Po Leung Kuk will be receiving the same amount to provide counseling, support of mental health and long-term community outreach. According to the company, this structure will see to it that resources are allocated fast and in a manner that is targeted towards set purposes.

Bitget described the driving principles of its operations through its Universal Exchange vision. This approach was elaborated by the CEO during the seventh anniversary of the company.

Charity teams will also work together with government agencies who handle emergency accommodation and damage evaluation. The purpose is to make the families stabilize through the crisis and enable them to recover in the long term.

Every organization will be dealing with cases of follow-ups and supporting vulnerable residents in the surrounding buildings.

Bitget Reiterates Its Support For World Communities

Also, Bitget offered his condolences to the families whose nations lost their loved ones. The company added that it is its wish that the relief fund would alleviate the short-term pressure on the displaced families.

It focused on how an effort to rebuild houses and reinstate safety was important to be coordinated. The exchange is the largest global Exchange in the world, with over 120 million users all over the world. Bitget has also created opportunities for users and creators with new programs. A recent example is the fast-track affiliate admissions and a revised earnings program.

The platform has increased its visibility in the world via key collaborations. For instance, Bitget partnered with a top football player, Julian Alvarez, to spread the adoption of crypto. The company indicated that part of its purpose is responsible steps and constant interaction with communities in the world in times of emergencies.

Investigations Intensify As Fatal Fire Affects Many Families

At least 128 deaths and over 70 injuries were confirmed by officials due to the fire. More than 900 citizens became homeless and are sleeping in the temporary shelters.

Hence, probes have been initiated on the renovation activity in the estate. Governments are assessing potential construction failures with regard to materials of building and safety standards.

On site recovery teams are still engaged working, and families of missing relatives are still being searched. There is an increasing pressure among the population to have a higher standard of safety in all aging residential complexes.

The Channel Factories We’ve Been Waiting For

The post The Channel Factories We’ve Been Waiting For appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Visions of future technology are often prescient about the broad strokes while flubbing the details. The tablets in “2001: A Space Odyssey” do indeed look like iPads, but you never see the astronauts paying for subscriptions or wasting hours on Candy Crush.  Channel factories are one vision that arose early in the history of the Lightning Network to address some challenges that Lightning has faced from the beginning. Despite having grown to become Bitcoin’s most successful layer-2 scaling solution, with instant and low-fee payments, Lightning’s scale is limited by its reliance on payment channels. Although Lightning shifts most transactions off-chain, each payment channel still requires an on-chain transaction to open and (usually) another to close. As adoption grows, pressure on the blockchain grows with it. The need for a more scalable approach to managing channels is clear. Channel factories were supposed to meet this need, but where are they? In 2025, subnetworks are emerging that revive the impetus of channel factories with some new details that vastly increase their potential. They are natively interoperable with Lightning and achieve greater scale by allowing a group of participants to open a shared multisig UTXO and create multiple bilateral channels, which reduces the number of on-chain transactions and improves capital efficiency. Achieving greater scale by reducing complexity, Ark and Spark perform the same function as traditional channel factories with new designs and additional capabilities based on shared UTXOs.  Channel Factories 101 Channel factories have been around since the inception of Lightning. A factory is a multiparty contract where multiple users (not just two, as in a Dryja-Poon channel) cooperatively lock funds in a single multisig UTXO. They can open, close and update channels off-chain without updating the blockchain for each operation. Only when participants leave or the factory dissolves is an on-chain transaction…
