Temenos AG (SIX: TEMN), a global leader in banking technology, today announced the Board of Directors has appointed Takis Spiliopoulos as CEO, effective immediately.

Mr. Takis Spiliopoulos joined Temenos in 2019 as Chief Financial Officer and assumed the role of Interim CEO in September 2025. He played a pivotal role in creating the company’s strategic roadmap and driving its successful execution over the past year. The appointment follows a thorough and independent search process led by the Board of Directors, supported by an external executive search firm, that evaluated many strong internal and external candidates. The Board’s decision reflects its confidence in Mr. Spiliopoulos’ proven leadership, deep industry expertise, and ability to deliver on Temenos’ long-term strategic ambitions. The Company is launching a search to identify a new Chief Financial Officer and will give further updates in due course.

Thibault de Tersant, Chair of the Board, commented: “On behalf of the Board, I congratulate Takis on his appointment as CEO. He has been instrumental in defining and executing our strategy, delivering strong results while continuing to invest for long-term growth. In his role as Interim CEO, Takis clearly demonstrated he was the right choice for the CEO role, having brought stability and an execution-focused mindset to the company. In addition to bringing our employees together, he has also helped preserve our corporate culture and values, empowering his team to deliver for all stakeholders. We are confident he will continue to drive Temenos forward.”

Takis Spiliopoulos, Chief Executive Officer, said: “I am honored to lead Temenos in its next chapter of growth and thank the Board for their trust and confidence. Our strategy and investment plan are clear, and our strategic roadmap and priorities remain unchanged; delivering value for our clients and shareholders. Temenos has a strong set of values built on collaboration, empowerment and trust. I look forward to working with our Executive Committee and across the business, to further strengthen our people-first culture and drive our future growth.”

Temenos reconfirms its guidance for FY-25, which was raised at the Q3-25 results in October 2025, and reconfirms the FY-28 targets.

The Channel Factories We’ve Been Waiting For

The post The Channel Factories We’ve Been Waiting For appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Visions of future technology are often prescient about the broad strokes while flubbing the details. The tablets in “2001: A Space Odyssey” do indeed look like iPads, but you never see the astronauts paying for subscriptions or wasting hours on Candy Crush.  Channel factories are one vision that arose early in the history of the Lightning Network to address some challenges that Lightning has faced from the beginning. Despite having grown to become Bitcoin’s most successful layer-2 scaling solution, with instant and low-fee payments, Lightning’s scale is limited by its reliance on payment channels. Although Lightning shifts most transactions off-chain, each payment channel still requires an on-chain transaction to open and (usually) another to close. As adoption grows, pressure on the blockchain grows with it. The need for a more scalable approach to managing channels is clear. Channel factories were supposed to meet this need, but where are they? In 2025, subnetworks are emerging that revive the impetus of channel factories with some new details that vastly increase their potential. They are natively interoperable with Lightning and achieve greater scale by allowing a group of participants to open a shared multisig UTXO and create multiple bilateral channels, which reduces the number of on-chain transactions and improves capital efficiency. Achieving greater scale by reducing complexity, Ark and Spark perform the same function as traditional channel factories with new designs and additional capabilities based on shared UTXOs.  Channel Factories 101 Channel factories have been around since the inception of Lightning. A factory is a multiparty contract where multiple users (not just two, as in a Dryja-Poon channel) cooperatively lock funds in a single multisig UTXO. They can open, close and update channels off-chain without updating the blockchain for each operation. Only when participants leave or the factory dissolves is an on-chain transaction…
