For fans hoping The Summer I Turned Pretty’s upcoming movie would be their Christmas present this year, there’s some disappointing news. Jenny Han, creator of Prime Video’s hit adaptation and author of the beloved romance trilogy, recently offered an honest update on where the film stands.

At The Wrap’s 2025 Power Women Summit, Han confirmed that she has completed the movie script for the film sequel, but clarified that production has not yet begun. “I just wrote it,” she said, noting that they have “not filmed anything yet.”

Han acknowledged fans’ hopes for a holiday release, particularly after the Season 3 finale’s post-credit scenes featured a Christmas-themed montage of Belly and Conrad in Paris set to “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” by Darlene Love.

“I know that everyone was hoping that it was coming out this Christmas,” she said. “But unfortunately, not happening, not possible.”

Forbes‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ Movie Announced After Season 3 Finale—Here’s What To Know

The main reason a Christmas debut was never realistic is that post-production on Season 3 wrapped only a month before its July premiere on Prime Video, leaving virtually no time to transition directly into filming the feature.

“The show came out in July… So it was really up to the last minute on the show, so that we wouldn’t have had time to film the whole movie,” she explained.

As of December 2025, few official details about the film have been released. When the project was first announced — shortly after the Season 3 finale, where Belly declared her love for Conrad and officially chose him over Jeremiah (read my full finale breakdown here) — Han teased that the story would revolve around a major milestone in Belly’s life.

“There is another big milestone left in Belly’s journey, and I thought only a movie could give it its proper due,” she said at the Paris red-carpet event celebrating the finale in September, according to Deadline. “I’m so grateful to Prime Video for continuing to support my vision for this story and for making it possible to share this final chapter with the fans.”

The exciting film announcement followed a heartfelt message Han left for viewers at the end of Season 3, Episode 11, hinting that Belly, Conrad, Jeremiah and Cousins may not be gone for good. After all, the season ended without a wedding for Belly and Conrad.

Forbes‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ Finale Ending Explained—Who Does Belly Choose?

“Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the love you’ve shown The Summer I Turned Pretty all these years,” the note read. “Whether you’ve been with Belly since the very first book or joined us with the show, I’m so grateful you’ve made Belly’s story part of your summers.”

She added, “We put our whole hearts into this show, and we’re so thankful to you for coming along with us on the ride. Maybe we’ll meet again one summer in Cousins. Until then – All of my love always, Jenny.”

The release date for The Summer I Turned Pretty now largely hinges on when production and filming begin. If production gets underway in early 2026, a late-2026 debut on Prime Video is possible, though early 2027 is more realistic. It’s also unclear whether the film will receive a limited theatrical run or arrive on Prime Video first.

Stay tuned for more details on The Summer I Turned Pretty movie, including its release date and production updates.

China Blocks Nvidia’s RTX Pro 6000D as Local Chips Rise

The post China Blocks Nvidia’s RTX Pro 6000D as Local Chips Rise appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. China Blocks Nvidia’s RTX Pro 6000D as Local Chips Rise China’s internet regulator has ordered the country’s biggest technology firms, including Alibaba and ByteDance, to stop purchasing Nvidia’s RTX Pro 6000D GPUs. According to the Financial Times, the move shuts down the last major channel for mass supplies of American chips to the Chinese market. Why Beijing Halted Nvidia Purchases Chinese companies had planned to buy tens of thousands of RTX Pro 6000D accelerators and had already begun testing them in servers. But regulators intervened, halting the purchases and signaling stricter controls than earlier measures placed on Nvidia’s H20 chip. Image: Nvidia An audit compared Huawei and Cambricon processors, along with chips developed by Alibaba and Baidu, against Nvidia’s export-approved products. Regulators concluded that Chinese chips had reached performance levels comparable to the restricted U.S. models. This assessment pushed authorities to advise firms to rely more heavily on domestic processors, further tightening Nvidia’s already limited position in China. China’s Drive Toward Tech Independence The decision highlights Beijing’s focus on import substitution — developing self-sufficient chip production to reduce reliance on U.S. supplies. “The signal is now clear: all attention is focused on building a domestic ecosystem,” said a representative of a leading Chinese tech company. Nvidia had unveiled the RTX Pro 6000D in July 2025 during CEO Jensen Huang’s visit to Beijing, in an attempt to keep a foothold in China after Washington restricted exports of its most advanced chips. But momentum is shifting. Industry sources told the Financial Times that Chinese manufacturers plan to triple AI chip production next year to meet growing demand. They believe “domestic supply will now be sufficient without Nvidia.” What It Means for the Future With Huawei, Cambricon, Alibaba, and Baidu stepping up, China is positioning itself for long-term technological independence. Nvidia, meanwhile, faces…
