Movie fans will find out Friday how well One Battle After Another does when the nominations for the 31st annual CCAs are announced by the Critics’ Choice Association. Like the Golden Globes, the CCAs honor the best in film and television at its annual ceremony.

The CCA nominations are scheduled to be announced at 12 p.m. ET/9 a.m. PT on Friday on cable’s E! and USA Network’s channels. In addition, the announcement of the nominations will be streamed on CriticsChoice.com, as well as the CCA, E! Online, E! and the USA Network’s YouTube channels. The nominations will also be unveiled on the CCA’s social media channels.

Of course, One Battle After Another is only one of the major films vying for CCA nominations. Among the other major film releases in the running are Avatar: Fire and Ash, Bugonia, F1: The Movie, Frankenstein, Hamnet, Is This Thing On?, Jay Kelly, Marty Supreme, Sinners, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, Train Dreams, Weapons and Wicked: For Good.

The Critics’ Choice Association is made up of more than 600 film and television journalists in the United States and Canada. Earlier this year, the CCA presented its 2024 Best Picture award to Anora, which went on to win Best Picture at the Oscars.

The 31st Annual CCAs will be handed out on Sunday, Jan. 4, at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, Calif. Comedian Chelsea Handler is returning to host the CCAs, which will be broadcast on E! and the USA Network at 7 p.m. ET/PT.

Awards Season Continues To Take Shape Next Week With The Golden Globe Nominations

The last major awards season announcement for film and television for the month happens on Monday, Dec. 8, when the nominations for the 83rd annual Golden Globes are revealed.

Several industry award nominations will be announced in January, beginning with the Annie Awards on Jan. 6, the Screen Actors Guild’s newly rebranded Actor Awards on Jan. 7 and the NAACP Image Awards on Jan. 8.

In addition, television and commercial nominees will be announced by the Directors Guild of American on Jan. 7, followed by the DGA’s Theatrical Feature nominations on Jan. 8. Nominations for the Producers Guild of America Awards will be announced on Jan. 9, followed by nomination announcements for the 98th Academy Awards on Jan. 22 and the Writers Guild of America Awards on Jan. 27.
