Artificial Intelligence (AI) is significantly reshaping the landscape of rendering technology and digital content creation, according to insights shared at the inaugural RenderCon conference in April 2025. With rapid advancements in AI and distributed networks, industry leaders like Jules Urbach, CEO of OTOY and founder of the Render Network, and Ari Emanuel, Executive Chairman of WME Group, discussed the transformative potential of these technologies.

The Rapid Evolution of Rendering and AI

The conference highlighted the swift pace of innovation in generative AI and 3D creation. Jules Urbach emphasized the speed of technological progress, noting improvements in generative AI that are revolutionizing workflows for storytellers, designers, and developers globally. According to Urbach, “This is so much better than it was three weeks ago. This is how fast things are moving in the space.”

AI’s Role in Creative Processes

During the event, Ari Emanuel reflected on the intersection of technology and entertainment, suggesting that AI and new distribution methods will fundamentally alter how stories are crafted and delivered. Urbach agreed, highlighting that rendering and AI are not just about increasing speed but reimagining how creativity can scale on a global level.

Enhancements in 3D Workflows

Urbach shared advancements in 3D workflows, such as the ability to extract 3D models in seconds, vastly improving efficiency for concept artists. These innovations allow artists to test ideas rapidly, reducing the time spent on preliminary stages of creation. Despite these advancements, Urbach acknowledged ongoing challenges, such as the need for tools that generate editable 3D scenes to give artists more control.

Real-Time Digital Prosthetics and Their Implications

One notable breakthrough discussed was in real-time digital prosthetics. Urbach recounted using a single RTX 4090 GPU to create a digital prosthetic, saving actors hours in makeup. This technology, as demonstrated with Colin Farrell’s transformation into The Penguin, showcases the potential of digital rendering to revolutionize traditional filmmaking techniques.

Ethical Considerations of AI in Likeness and Storytelling

As AI facilitates new creative possibilities, ethical considerations arise, particularly regarding the use of likenesses. Urbach emphasized the importance of establishing clear ethical standards in collaboration with organizations like SAG to navigate these issues responsibly.

Preserving Cultural Heritage Through Technology

Urbach also highlighted efforts to digitally archive Star Trek, preserving its cultural legacy through technology. Collaborating with Rod Roddenberry, the team has been digitizing various elements of the franchise, including ships and set designs. This project underscores the potential of technology to not only innovate but also preserve and expand iconic fictional universes.

As AI continues to evolve, it opens new frontiers for creativity, posing questions about the future of storytelling and cultural preservation. The insights from RenderCon 2025 suggest a future where technology and creativity are inextricably linked, inviting creators to envision not just what can be built, but the kind of world they aspire to shape.

Fed Decides On Interest Rates Today—Here’s What To Watch For

The post Fed Decides On Interest Rates Today—Here’s What To Watch For appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Topline The Federal Reserve on Wednesday will conclude a two-day policymaking meeting and release a decision on whether to lower interest rates—following months of pressure and criticism from President Donald Trump—and potentially signal whether additional cuts are on the way. President Donald Trump has urged the central bank to “CUT INTEREST RATES, NOW, AND BIGGER” than they might plan to. Getty Images Key Facts The central bank is poised to cut interest rates by at least a quarter-point, down from the 4.25% to 4.5% range where they have been held since December to between 4% and 4.25%, as Wall Street has placed 100% odds of a rate cut, according to CME’s FedWatch, with higher odds (94%) on a quarter-point cut than a half-point (6%) reduction. Fed governors Christopher Waller and Michelle Bowman, both Trump appointees, voted in July for a quarter-point reduction to rates, and they may dissent again in favor of a large cut alongside Stephen Miran, Trump’s Council of Economic Advisers’ chair, who was sworn in at the meeting’s start on Tuesday. It’s unclear whether other policymakers, including Kansas City Fed President Jeffrey Schmid and St. Louis Fed President Alberto Musalem, will favor larger cuts or opt for no reduction. Fed Chair Jerome Powell said in his Jackson Hole, Wyoming, address last month the central bank would likely consider a looser monetary policy, noting the “shifting balance of risks” on the U.S. economy “may warrant adjusting our policy stance.” David Mericle, an economist for Goldman Sachs, wrote in a note the “key question” for the Fed’s meeting is whether policymakers signal “this is likely the first in a series of consecutive cuts” as the central bank is anticipated to “acknowledge the softening in the labor market,” though they may not “nod to an October cut.” Mericle said he…
