GoTyme Bank as introduced a new crypto investment feature for its users in the Philippines.
The launch is facilitated through a partnership with Alpaca, a global brokerage infrastructure provider.
The new service, GoTyme Crypto, allows customers to invest in 11 different cryptocurrencies. They include Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Solana (SOL).
Powered by Alpaca’s Broker API, the feature is integrated directly into the GoTyme Bank app. Users can fund their dedicated crypto accounts using their existing GoTyme Bank Everyday current accounts.
Nate Clarke, President and CEO of GoTyme Bank, stated that the launch is a step towards empowering Filipinos to unlock their financial potential.
The initiative targets a significant market in the Philippines, where digital asset adoption is rising.
According to the company, approximately 10% of Filipinos currently use cryptocurrency, with user numbers projected to reach nearly 12.8 million by 2026.
Yoshi Yokokawa, CEO of Alpaca, expressed support for the collaboration, highlighting the Philippines as an early adopter of digital assets.

Robinhood acquired an Indonesian brokerage and digital asset trading firm to access a market with 17 million crypto investors. Crypto and stock trading platform Robinhood is set to tap into Indonesia’s burgeoning cryptocurrency trading market after an agreement to acquire two local fintech companies.In an announcement on Sunday, Robinhood said it has entered into agreements to acquire Buana Capital, an Indonesian brokerage, and PT Pedagang Aset Kripto, a licensed Indonesian digital financial asset trader, “marking our entry into one of Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing markets.”It said that Indonesia has more than 19 million capital market investors and 17 million crypto investors, making it a “compelling market for equities and crypto trading.”Read more
