PANews reported on December 23 that Jamf Threat Labs has reported a new variant of the information-stealing malware " MacSync ," which has successfully bypassed the macOS Gatekeeper security mechanism. This variant uses file bloat, network connection verification, and a self-destructing script to evade detection, and can steal sensitive data such as iCloud keychains, browser passwords, and cryptocurrency wallets. Some users have already suffered financial losses. macOS users are advised to be vigilant and take timely precautions.
