Aster Activates Automated $ASTER Buybacks Using 20–40% of Platform Fees

  • Aster has switched on automated $ASTER buybacks, directing 20–40% of daily platform fees into repurchases through its reserve wallets.
  • The Stage 5 program began on Dec. 23, 2025, and allows up to 80% of daily fee revenue to fund buybacks, including a 40% share set aside for automatic daily buys.

Aster has enabled automated $ASTER buybacks using its Strategic Buyback Reserve, with 20% to 40% of on-platform fees being allocated to the repurchases of tokens. The relocation comes after the previously announced Stage 5 Buyback Program on the platform and is aimed at lowering supply in circulation by conducting on-chain transactions, which can be verified independently.

The Strategic Buyback Reserve, according to the announcement, is now automatically performing repurchases with its actions being initiated in the reserve wallet 0x5E4969C41ca9F9831468B98328A370b7AbD5a397.

Aster said the buyback process will respond to market conditions, enabling targeted purchases when the program’s parameters are met. All buybacks are recorded on-chain, allowing holders and analysts to track transactions directly through public blockchain data.

The activation is the newest step in Aster’s wider $ASTER tokenomics plan, which the team says is built around fee-funded buybacks. It is also noted in the announcement that the levels of allocation might change within the range of 20%-40% based on observed market trend.

Aster will also provide periodic execution updates to the community to communicate on the buyback activity and timing.

Daily Fee Allocation Rules for $ASTER Repurchases

Aster Buyback Program Stage 5 is based on two parallel programs that are financed by the daily platform fees. The strategy, introduced on December 23, 2025, would distribute up to 80% of the daily platform fees to $ASTER buybacks under an integrated system of automatic and strategic acquisitions.

The first mechanism is an Automatic Daily Buyback, funded with 40% of daily fees and executed each day. Aster said this component is intended to provide consistent buy-side activity and gradual supply reduction through routine on-chain execution. The wallet assigned for this automated stream is 0x4786927333c0bA8aB27CA41361ADF33148C5301E.

The second mechanism is the Strategic Buyback Reserve, which is funded with 20% to 40% of daily fees and is now confirmed as active. It stated that this reserve is built for targeted repurchases based on market conditions, offering flexibility during periods of volatility while maintaining a fee-based funding source.

The project reiterated that all buyback transactions are fully verifiable on-chain and that execution reporting will continue throughout the program’s duration.

Earlier on, CNF reported that Aster DEX has introduced a zero-fee structure for its entire lineup of stock perpetual contracts. The update allows makers and takers to open and close positions without paying trading fees on tokenized stocks such as Tesla, Apple, and Nvidia.

Aster price has been volatile in the last 24 hours, dropping 12.9% to $0.6242 after briefly trading near $0.7174.
