Fleetwood Mac Debuts A Song On The Hot 100 After A 20 Year Hiatus

More than half a century after its release, Fleetwood Mac’s “Landslide” finally debuts on the Hot 100, ending a 20-plus-year hiatus of new hits on the competitive list. 1975: (L-R) John McVie, Christine McVie, Stevie Nicks, Mick Fleetwood, and Lindsey Buckingham of the rock group “Fleetwood Mac” pose for a portrait in 1975. Fleetwood Mac’s name can always be found on the Billboard charts, typically on those that are centered around albums or rock songs, as Americans are still in love with the music that the pop-rock group created largely in the 1970s and 1980s. Streams and sales continue to power tracks like “Dreams” and “The Chain,” as well as the blockbuster that is Rumours.

Thanks to a sync in the fifth season of Stranger Things, Fleetwood Mac’s “Landslide” becomes a hit in the United States this week. The tune launches on several tallies and even manages to appear on the Hot 100 for the first time, decades after its release.

While the group can almost always be located on song rosters focused on one genre or another, the Hot 100 is another story, as it’s the most competitive tally published by Billboard. The fact that “Landslide” only appears for the very first time is rather remarkable.

“Landslide” Debuts on the Hot 100

“Landslide” opens at No. 41 on this week’s Hot 100, narrowly missing out on earning the band another top 40 success. The tune marks the group’s twenty-sixth hit on the all-encompassing ranking of the most popular songs in America.

Fleetwood Mac Scores One of the Week’s Biggest Debuts

Fleetwood Mac earns the second-loftiest debut on this week’s Hot 100. Only “Internet Girl” by Grammy-nominated girl group Katseye launches in a loftier space, as that new single kicks off its time at No. 29.

Prince and The Revolution’s “Purple Rain” returns to the roster at No. 27, and it stands as the most successful cut found on the chart that didn’t take up space on the list just days ago. Several other superstars like Doechii, SZA, Ty Dolla $ign, Olivia Dean, and a number of others launch songs behind Fleetwood Mac and Katseye as well.

Fleetwood Mac’s Hot 100 Winning Streak Continues

As “Landslide” arrives, Fleetwood Mac earns its twenty-sixth appearance on the Hot 100. The group hasn’t scored a new hit on the tally since 2003, when “Peacekeeper” launched and eventually climbed to No. 80.

“Landslide” Skipped the Charts During Its Original Run

Fans of Fleetwood Mac, or perhaps “Landslide” alone, may be surprised to learn that the tune never made a dent on the Hot 100 during the track’s initial commercial heyday. Fleetwood Mac did not select it as a single, and it was extremely difficult for any non-promotional cut to make an impact large enough to land on the list until recently.

A Live Version of “Landslide” Beat the Studio Take to the Hot 100

Somewhat shockingly, a different version of the same song — “Landslide (Live 1997)” — beat the original to the Hot 100. That recording peaked at No. 51 in the summer of 1998 after debuting just a few weeks prior.

Fleetwood Mac’s Hot 100 History Stretches Back More Than Half a Century

Fleetwood Mac extends its tenure on the Hot 100, as the band has been charting hits for well over half a century. Fleetwood Mac first appeared on the list in 1970, when “Oh Well – Pt. 1” landed on the competitive roster.

“Landslide” Debuts on Multiple Billboard Lists

In addition to the Hot 100, “Landslide” makes a home on both the Streaming Songs chart and the Billboard Global 200 for the first time, as it debuts at Nos. 40 and 123, respectively. Fleetwood Mac earns just its second smash on the Streaming Songs ranking, where “Landslide” joins “Dreams,” which peaked at No. 6 during a moment of virality in 2020.

Both “Dreams” and “The Chain” have spent months on the Billboard Global 200, the worldwide ranking of the most popular songs. “Landslide” sits in between the two in terms of peak position, beating the highest placement enjoyed by “The Chain” – No. 129 – by six spots.

“Landslide” returns to a pair of Billboard lists, reentering both the Hot Rock Songs and Hot Rock & Alternative Songs charts at new highs. The Fleetwood Mac cut breaks back in at Nos. 6 and 7, respectively, earning the group a third top 10 smash in both instances.

“Landslide” Breaks Into the Rock Streaming List’s Top 10

Over on the Rock Streaming Songs chart, “Landslide” surges to a never-before-seen position. The Fleetwood Mac favorite jumps from No. 21 to No. 8, finding its way into the top 10 for the first time, where it similarly becomes the group’s third such smash.

Why The Green Bay Packers Must Take The Cleveland Browns Seriously — As Hard As That Might Be

The post Why The Green Bay Packers Must Take The Cleveland Browns Seriously — As Hard As That Might Be appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers are off to a 2-0 start. Getty Images The Green Bay Packers are, once again, one of the NFL’s better teams. The Cleveland Browns are, once again, one of the league’s doormats. It’s why unbeaten Green Bay (2-0) is a 8-point favorite at winless Cleveland (0-2) Sunday according to betmgm.com. The money line is also Green Bay -500. Most expect this to be a Packers’ rout, and it very well could be. But Green Bay knows taking anyone in this league for granted can prove costly. “I think if you look at their roster, the paper, who they have on that team, what they can do, they got a lot of talent and things can turn around quickly for them,” Packers safety Xavier McKinney said. “We just got to kind of keep that in mind and know we not just walking into something and they just going to lay down. That’s not what they going to do.” The Browns certainly haven’t laid down on defense. Far from. Cleveland is allowing an NFL-best 191.5 yards per game. The Browns gave up 141 yards to Cincinnati in Week 1, including just seven in the second half, but still lost, 17-16. Cleveland has given up an NFL-best 45.5 rushing yards per game and just 2.1 rushing yards per attempt. “The biggest thing is our defensive line is much, much improved over last year and I think we’ve got back to our personality,” defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz said recently. “When we play our best, our D-line leads us there as our engine.” The Browns rank third in the league in passing defense, allowing just 146.0 yards per game. Cleveland has also gone 30 straight games without allowing a 300-yard passer, the longest active streak in the NFL.…
