Tether and Bitqik Launch Stablecoin Education Program in Laos

  • Tether and Bitqik focus on practical crypto education to reduce risk for new users.
  • Laos initiative targets students and small businesses with stablecoin use cases.
  • Grassroots events aim to build trust before wider stablecoin adoption in Laos markets.

Tether and Bitqik have launched a new education-focused partnership in Laos that aims to explain Bitcoin and stablecoins to everyday users. The initiative, announced on January 19, 2026, will support a wider understanding of digital assets through student-friendly content and in-person events. Both companies believe better financial knowledge can help communities make safer and smarter decisions.

Consequently, the program targets practical learning rather than hype. It also arrives as more Southeast Asian markets explore digital payments and cross-border transfers. Moreover, the effort could help new users understand how stablecoins work before they adopt them for real-world use.

Nationwide Push for Stablecoin Awareness

Bitqik, a licensed local exchange, plans to lead education efforts through online courses and community learning sessions. Besides teaching basic crypto concepts, the exchange will spotlight USDT and how stablecoins can support financial inclusion.

The program aims to build trust through real examples and responsible guidance. Significantly, the plan targets people who often lack access to traditional financial tools. It also aims to help entrepreneurs explore stablecoin payments for commerce and digital services. Hence, education becomes the first step toward adoption.

Events and Learning Content Across 2026

Bitqik will create online educational material designed for students and new market participants. Additionally, the exchange will host quarterly events in key cities across Laos. These include Vientiane, Pakse, Vang Vieng, and Luang Prabang.

Each session will focus on stablecoin use cases and the basics of blockchain technology. Moreover, the events will feature seminars, roadshows, and guided discussions. Bitqik expects the initiative to reach more than 10,000 people.

Why Tether Backs Grassroots Education

Tether says the program supports its wider mission of improving financial access through knowledge. CEO Paolo Ardoino said, “Financial inclusion is not only achieved by access but by having a clear understanding.”

Additionally, he added, “By bridging knowledge gaps, expanding access to education, and combining real-world use cases for stablecoins, we are helping to build a more resilient, inclusive, and opportunity-driven financial future.” However, the impact will depend on consistent delivery and local participation.

Bitqik CEO Virasack Viravong said the Bitqik Academy will promote blockchain learning across Laos in 2026. Consequently, the partnership may help communities understand stablecoins before using them for savings, payments, or business growth.

UK Looks to US to Adopt More Crypto-Friendly Approach

The post UK Looks to US to Adopt More Crypto-Friendly Approach appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. The UK and US are reportedly preparing to deepen cooperation on digital assets, with Britain looking to copy the Trump administration’s crypto-friendly stance in a bid to boost innovation.  UK Chancellor Rachel Reeves and US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent discussed on Tuesday how the two nations could strengthen their coordination on crypto, the Financial Times reported on Tuesday, citing people familiar with the matter.  The discussions also involved representatives from crypto companies, including Coinbase, Circle Internet Group and Ripple, with executives from the Bank of America, Barclays and Citi also attending, according to the report. The agreement was made “last-minute” after crypto advocacy groups urged the UK government on Thursday to adopt a more open stance toward the industry, claiming its cautious approach to the sector has left the country lagging in innovation and policy.  Source: Rachel Reeves Deal to include stablecoins, look to unlock adoption Any deal between the countries is likely to include stablecoins, the Financial Times reported, an area of crypto that US President Donald Trump made a policy priority and in which his family has significant business interests. The Financial Times reported on Monday that UK crypto advocacy groups also slammed the Bank of England’s proposal to limit individual stablecoin holdings to between 10,000 British pounds ($13,650) and 20,000 pounds ($27,300), claiming it would be difficult and expensive to implement. UK banks appear to have slowed adoption too, with around 40% of 2,000 recently surveyed crypto investors saying that their banks had either blocked or delayed a payment to a crypto provider.  Many of these actions have been linked to concerns over volatility, fraud and scams. The UK has made some progress on crypto regulation recently, proposing a framework in May that would see crypto exchanges, dealers, and agents treated similarly to traditional finance firms, with…
