Ateneo de Iloilo Becomes Third Campus to Adopt GCash Digital Payment Services

GCash and Ateneo de Iloilo – Santa Maria Catholic School have officially launched a partnership to introduce digital payment solutions for the school community.

The parties formalised their collaboration on Thursday, 22 January 2026, signing a memorandum of agreement (MOA) at the Office of the School President in Iloilo City.

This move makes Ateneo de Iloilo the third Ateneo campus in the Philippines to adopt GCash services, following similar implementations in Naga and Davao.

The primary feature of this partnership allows parents and guardians to pay tuition and other school fees directly through the GCash app.

This aims to provide a more convenient alternative to traditional payment methods, reducing the need for physical transactions on campus.

Paul Vincent Albano, Vice President and B2B General Manager at G-Xchange, Inc., highlighted the efficiency gains for families.

Beyond fee payments, the partnership envisions a broader “cashless campus” environment.

Albano mentioned potential future initiatives, such as using GCash Junior Accounts to help students learn financial management and saving habits early on.

Additionally, the platform could be utilised for the disbursement of salaries and allowances for school staff.

School President Fr. Arnel Ong expressed optimism about the collaboration, noting the benefits for the entire school ecosystem.

Executives from GCash, such as COO Barbara Dawn Dapul and Miguel Polido, joined Ateneo de Iloilo’s Fr. Braulio Dahunan and Treasurer Mark Anthony Yap to sign the agreement.
