Gavin Newsom's Press Office has mocked Donald Trump after the president made a Truth Social post calling the Governor of California a "lame duck".

Newsom, who attended the World Economic Forum meeting in Davos, Switzerland, irked Trump with a speech made to world leaders. Trump took to Truth Social yesterday (January 22) and wrote, "Gavin Newscum, as a 'Lame Duck' Governor of a Failing State, should not be at Davos running around screaming for the attention of Foreign Leaders, and embarrassing our Country.

"He made a mockery of himself, and everybody, including his staff, knows it! He should get the permits so that people can build their homes destroyed by the fire that he could have prevented if he would have allowed water to flow from the Pacific Northwest.

"He should finish his monstrously 'overbudget and behind schedule' Railroad, from San Francisco to L.A., one of the Greatest Public Disasters in History, and focus on stopping Crime in the streets of California Cities - Then finish out his term, and GO HOME!

"With a record like he's got, the ruination of one of the most beautiful places on Earth, where people are leaving in droves, it is unimaginable that he could run for President but, who knows, it's a very strange World!"

Newsom's Press Office has since replied to the post from Trump. Their response reads, "Rent free." Attached was a video of Newsom smiling into the camera.

Newsom used his speech in Davos to hit out at world leaders who were groveling to President Trump.

"Yeah, it's time to buck up. It's time to get serious and stop being complicit," Newsom said. "You know, it's, I've seen this in the United States, the supine Congress, playing both sides."

"But when you say standing tall, what do you mean?" the reporter asked.

"Just I can't take this complicity," the governor replied. "People rolling over. I should have brought a bunch of knee pads for all the world leaders. I mean, handing out crowns and handing, I mean, this is pathetic."

"Nobel Prizes, they are being given away. I mean, it's just pathetic," he continued. "And I hope people understand how pathetic they look on the world stage. I mean, at least from an American perspective, it's embarrassing."
