President Donald Trump disinvited Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney from his "Board of Peace" on Thursday night following comments the Canadian leader made during the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
The New York Times reported on Thursday that Carney returned to Canada from Switzerland as a "global hero" for standing up to Trump at the global gathering. Carney described the U.S. as a source of instability in the world and called on the global "middle powers" to work together.
“The middle powers must act together because if we’re not at the table, we’re on the menu," Carney said.
Canrey's comments seem to have been poorly received by Trump, who posted a "letter" to Carney on Truth Social.
"Please let this Letter serve to represent that the Board of Peace is withdrawing its invitation to you regarding Canada’s joining, what will be, the most prestigious Board of Leaders ever assembled, at any time," Trump wrote.
