Enraged Trump warns key ally will now be 'eaten up' by China after rebuffing him

President Donald Trump fired off a scathing post Friday on Truth Social, lambasting Canada for rejecting a proposed "Golden Dome" project over Greenland and cozying up to China instead.

In the bombastic message, Trump claimed the dome would actually benefit America's northern neighbor, yet Canadian officials chose to align with Beijing instead.

"Canada is against The Golden Dome being built over Greenland, even though The Golden Dome would protect Canada. Instead, they voted in favor of doing business with China, who will 'eat them up' within the first year!" he railed.

The post marks the latest salvo in Trump's ongoing fixation with Greenland, the Danish autonomous territory he has repeatedly suggested the United States should acquire or control.

Back in May, Canadian Ambassador to the United Nations Bob Rae compared Trump’s comments about a “Golden Dome” missile defense program to a “protection racket.”

Trump said he offered Canada free missile defense protection if the ally agreed to join the U.S. as its 51st state.
