The Wrecking Crew begins streaming on Prime Video on Thursday. The official summary for the film reads, “Two estranged half-brothers, Jonny (Momoa) and James (Bautista) are forced to reunite after their father’s mysterious death. As they set out to uncover the truth, buried secrets resurface and loyalties are tested, unveiling a conspiracy that can tear their family apart.

Frank Scheck of The Hollywood Reporter is among the top critics on RT who gives The Wrecking Crew a “fresh” score. Scheck writes in his RT review summary, “Movies like this depend almost entirely on chemistry between the co-stars, and fortunately Bautista and Momoa have plenty of it.”

Richard Kuipers of Variety also gives The Wrecking Crew a “fresh” score on RT, writing in his review summary, “The crux of the movie is how well Bautista and Momoa fire off each other once Jonny returns to his roots in Hawaii … The action stars may not be great actors in the classical sense but they are more than competent and acquit themselves.”

Nick Schager of The Daily Beast gives The Wrecking Crew a “fresh” score as well, but notes in his RT review summary, “Never quite as funny as it wants to be, but making up for that in the violence department, it’s a healthy serving of slam-bang cinematic comfort food.”

Jacob Oller the AV Club is the only top critic on RT so far who gives The Wrecking Crew a “rotten” review, writing, “Somehow, the laborious and forgettable action-comedy isn’t dumb enough.”
