PANews reported on January 29 that, according to Trump's latest remarks, he again criticized Federal Reserve Chairman Powell, saying that his refusal to cut interest rates was unjustified and that high interest rates were harming the U.S. economy and national security, resulting in hundreds of billions of dollars in unnecessary interest payments each year.
Trump stated that inflation is no longer a threat and that the United States should enjoy the lowest interest rates globally, thanks to the economic strength gained from its tariff policies. He emphasized that the Federal Reserve should immediately and significantly cut interest rates to further strengthen the nation's economic competitiveness and reiterated his dissatisfaction with Powell.
