Infimobile Rolls Out New 5GB Plan, Targeting Light Data Users at $49/Year

Infimobile introduces a new 5GB annual prepaid plan priced at $49, targeting light data users seeking affordable, predictable service. The plan offers monthly data, voice, and text allotments on Verizon or T-Mobile networks, eliminating contracts, credit checks, and monthly billing through Infimobile’s cloud-based digital platform.

— Infimobile, a digital-only mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) serving customers in the United States, today announced the launch of a new 5GB annual prepaid plan priced at $49 per year. The plan is designed for light data users who want predictable, low-cost wireless service on major U.S. networks without the complexity of monthly billing.

The new 5GB plan offers 5GB of high-speed data per month, along with 2,500 voice minutes and 2,500 text messages each month for a whole 12-month period, paid upfront. The plan runs on Infimobile’s existing dual-network model, using either Verizon or T-Mobile as the underlying network based on device compatibility and coverage. It is aimed at users who rely primarily on Wi-Fi but still need consistent mobile connectivity for calls, messages, and occasional data use.

By introducing this plan at a $49 annual price point, Infimobile is expanding its portfolio of prepaid offerings to include a lower data tier positioned for students, seniors, secondary lines, and cost-conscious customers. The company’s in-house technology and cloud-based platform enable it to deliver the plan as a one-time purchase with no contracts, credit checks, or recurring monthly charges.

“Many customers do not need unlimited data, but they do need a simple, affordable way to stay connected,” Infimobile founder and CEO Kiran Suram explains. “The 5GB annual plan is designed for people who are mostly on Wi-Fi and want a reliable mobile line without worrying about a bill every month.”

The $49 5GB plan is structured as a 12-month prepaid offer, with the monthly 5GB data allowance and voice/SMS allotments resetting every month during the term. When the data allocation is consumed, usage stops rather than triggering overage charges, which helps prevent bill shock and unplanned spending. Customers can select the underlying network during activation, based on coverage and device compatibility in their area, leveraging Infimobile’s access to both Verizon and T-Mobile networks.

Infimobile positions its new 5GB plan as a more affordable alternative to typical offers in the U.S. MVNO market, where 5GB plans usually cost $14 to $15 per month on 12-month or rolling monthly arrangements, or roughly $168 to $180 per year. At $49 per year, Infimobile’s plan offers potential savings of $119 to $131 per year for users who only need 5GB of data each month.

While features such as unlimited talk and text may differ among providers, Infimobile’s focus with this product is on minimizing cost for light data usage while retaining access to Tier 1 networks. Its technology strategy centers on automation for activation, billing, and support functions, which the company states helps lower its operating expenses compared with legacy models.

“We built our platform in-house so we could operate more efficiently and reflect those efficiencies in our pricing,” Suram explains. “Running our IT stack and digital operations on our own cloud platform allows us to reduce overhead and bring down the cost of entry-level plans like this 5GB offer.”

Early customer feedback on Infimobile’s broader portfolio, including its existing annual plans, highlights value for money and the convenience of a one-time yearly payment. Suram notes that a growing share of subscribers continue to choose annual plans, which the company views as a sign of customer trust in its service quality and pricing model.

“Our aim with this plan is to give users a clear, predictable option at the low end of data usage,” Suram adds. “If someone mainly uses Wi-Fi and only needs a modest amount of mobile data, they should not have to pay the same as a heavy user. This plan reflects that difference.”

Consumers can purchase the 5GB annual plan through Infimobile’s website and receive either a physical SIM or eSIM, depending on device compatibility. Activation is completed online, and customers can manage their plan, monitor usage, and recharge or upgrade through Infimobile’s self-service digital tools.

Users can subscribe to Infimobile’s 5GB at $49/year pricing until February 28, with standard pricing subject to change.
