Jimmy Kimmel has mocked MAGA voters for the tricky situation they find themselves in after Donald Trump's name appeared in Jeffrey Epstein's files.
While the president previously asked the public to move on to more important issues, the slow release of Epstein's files shows no signs of going away. It means MAGA and Trump are in a bind, and they appear unsure what to do next. Kimmel, speaking in the opening monologue of his talk show, suggested MAGA is doing everything it can to push back against the files.
He said, "The president's name, we searched it, appeared more than a million times, and that doesn't even include the three million pages they haven't released, which obviously puts MAGA in a bit of a fix.
"Popping up a million times isn't a positive for the Pizzagate party, so now they're grabbing at anything they can, including a document that says when the authorities were finally closing in on Jeffrey Epstein back in 2006, Trump called the Palm Beach police chief and said, 'Thank goodness you're stopping him, everyone knows he's been doing this.'"
Kimmel went on to mock the president for his comment to the Palm Beach police chief. He added, "And none of us said a word. And that's the evidence they [MAGA] want people to see right now.
"Trump also told cops that Ghislaine Maxwell was evil, which is interesting because his guy in the Department of Justice moved her to a country club prison, and fewer than five years ago he said, 'I wish her well,' but it's all just something to keep in mind when he mysteriously pardons her next month."
Kimmel had previously mocked MAGA for losing their minds over Bad Bunny's Super Bowl halftime show.
He said, "The MAGAs are still exploding with rage over the Bad Bunny halftime show. A Republican Congressman from Missouri is threatening to call in the FCC to report profanities that either may or may not have been uttered by Bad Bunny - he has no idea.
"There are a lot of people in the MAGA news media still making a giant deal out of this halftime show, which to my eyes was just some people singing and dancing, but so many of them are so mad, I think they might need to be medicated."
