PANews reported on February 13th that Coinbase Developer Platform announced its CDP SQL API now supports charging USDC fees per request via the x402 model. AI agents can directly query indexed Coinbase blockchain data without API keys, accounts, or human approval. This solution completes 402 payment requests, signing, and settlement through a single HTTP stream, enabling pay-per-use access for both wallet and query functionality. The CDP SQL API is the first CDP service to support x402, and the company states that more infrastructure for smart agents will be rolled out in the future.
