Three armed intruders recently attempted a violent home invasion targeting the CEO of Binance France. However, they fled empty-handed after discovering that the residence was unoccupied. The poorly prepared group struck in different places in their confusion, without any success.

Thanks to their miscalculations, the police were able to track down and arrest the intruders later that same day. While there were no serious injuries, one victim did suffer head wounds from the attackers’ gun butts. The incident highlights the alarming rise in crypto-related violence in France, with 11 similar attacks reported since the start of 2026.

Details of the Failed Attacks

The ordeal began around 7 a.m., when three hooded men armed with firearms broke into a building in Val-de-Marne, looking for the apartment of a Binance France executive. In their confusion, they forced open a neighbor’s door to ask for directions before eventually finding the right unit.

Once inside, the attackers ransacked the premises in search of crypto access. However, on discovering the target’s absence, they carted away just two mobile phones. The group struck again at 9:15 a.m. in Vaucresson, where they assaulted a female resident with a gun butt.

The attackers soon realized they were at the wrong address, and one of them remarked, “The address isn’t right,” and “Stéphane lives at number 41,” likely indicating a nearby crypto figure’s residence. The investigation was aided by surveillance footage showing the same vehicle at both locations, along with tracking of the stolen phones.

Binance Confirms Executive’s Safety

Authorities intercepted the three suspects at Lyon Perrache train station as they tried to flee south by public transport. The Lyon BRI intervention unit carried out the arrests, taking all suspects into custody for further questioning. Multiple jurisdictions worked together seamlessly, leveraging real-time tracking from surveillance footage and device signals.

Meanwhile, Binance co-founder Yi He has addressed the recent developments, stating that the executive and his family are safe. She confirmed the arrest of three individuals connected to the matter and assured that the investigation is ongoing. Yi He expressed sincere thanks to the BRB for their swift and professional response.

She emphasized that the safety of the team, users, and community remains the top priority and urged vigilance against suspicious outreach. The incident is part of a troubling trend in France, where criminals are increasingly resorting to violence to forcefully obtain cryptocurrencies.
