The world's only PSA 10 Pikachu Illustrator card has been auctioned off, becoming a legendary "Mona Lisa" auction in the Pokémon world.

PANews reported on February 16th that, according to CNN, the Pikachu Illustrator PSA 10 max-grade card was officially sold at Goldin Auction House early this morning, fetching a total price of $16,492,000, setting multiple historical records. The final hammer price was $13.3 million, and with a 24% buyer's premium, it reached $16.492 million. This is more than three times the price Logan Paul paid for it in 2021 for $5.275 million, and it also broke the Guinness World Record, becoming the most expensive single card ever sold at auction, surpassing the previous record for sports cards. The new buyer is rumored to be AJ Scaramucci (son of former White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci), founder of the venture capital fund Solari Capital.
