As Solana battles to hold a critical support level, the crypto market is witnessing a distinct shift in capital allocation. Derivatives data reveal a surge in short positioning, pushing funding rates negative and reinforcing the downtrend. However, beneath this surface weakness, on-chain metrics tell a different story, with new wallet creation steadily climbing.

While traders debate Solana’s next move, a growing number of investors are rotating capital toward new crypto projects with live infrastructure. Among them, Mutuum Finance (MUTM) is capturing attention as its presale crosses $20.6 million.

Solana Faces Pressure as Shorts Dominate

Solana’s price action remains trapped within a descending channel, currently testing the $80–$82 band after a 38% monthly decline. The asset recently printed a death cross, with the 50-day moving average sliding below the 200-day, confirming the bearish structure.

Open interest has climbed to nearly $5.2 billion alongside falling prices, indicating that fresh short positions are being added rather than existing longs simply closing out. Funding rates have now flipped negative, meaning short sellers are paying to maintain their bets.

Immediate support rests near $76–$76.5, with a breakdown exposing the $73 and $67.5 levels. On the upside, resistance sits firmly at $87–$90, and a clean break above this zone could trigger a short squeeze toward $100. However, until that happens, the path of least resistance remains lower.

While institutional products saw modest inflows recently, the overall setup suggests Solana is still working through a prolonged repair phase rather than entering a new uptrend. The hype cycle has cooled, social dominance has collapsed, and speculative excess is being purged, leaving the asset in a period of weakness. Amidst Solana’s collapse, Mutuum Finance’s (MUTM) presale success is drawing interest to the new crypto.

Mutuum Finance Presale

Amid this broader market recalibration, Mutuum Finance continues to advance through its presale with strong momentum. The project has raised over $20,600,000 and attracted more than 19,020 holders since the opening phase launched in 2025.

Investors entering at this stage can still acquire MUTM at a discounted price of $0.04. Upcoming phases will introduce higher entry points, including $0.045 in Phase 8 and a listing price of $0.06 at market debut. The protocol’s tokenomics allocate 1.82 billion MUTM from a total capped supply of 4 billion tokens to the presale. More than 855 million MUTM have already been purchased by a growing base of participants,  a strong show of confidence. Unlike inflationary models, MUTM’s fixed supply of 4 billion tokens ensures that no more tokens will be minted, potentially diluting value.

Passive Yield Through mtTokens and Buyback Mechanism

Beyond the presale discount, Mutuum Finance offers structural features designed to generate ongoing value. When users supply assets like ETH or USDT to the protocol’s Peer-to-Contract (P2C) liquidity pools, they receive mtTokens, yield-bearing ERC-20 receipts that automatically accrue interest. A lender depositing $11,000 into a pool with 10% APY could see that position grow to approximately $12,100 over one year without needing to manage manually.

Additionally, the protocol implements a buyback-and-redistribute model. A portion of revenue generated from borrowing fees is used to purchase MUTM tokens from the open market. These tokens are then distributed to participants who stake mtTokens in the safety module. This creates a recurring distribution cycle, where protocol participants receive passive MUTM rewards simply by maintaining their staked positions.

MUTM Positioned for Sustained Demand

The combination of a fixed token supply, live testnet functionality, and buyback-and-distribute rewards positions Mutuum Finance differently from projects that rely solely on speculation. As Solana’s market digests its post-hype correction, capital continues rotating toward protocols with operational infrastructure and clear revenue models. With Phase 7 closing rapidly and the launch price confirmation at $0.06, the current window gives investors a discounted entry into this new crypto before the next scheduled increase.
