'Sinister and jarring': CNN host stunned by new details about Nancy Guthrie's abductor

A CNN host was taken aback on Monday night after new details about Nancy Guthrie's abductor were revealed.

New video footage obtained by law enforcement shows that Guthrie's abductor visited the home a few days before she disappeared in early February. The alleged abductor can be seen in the video without his gun or the backpack that investigators have focused on in an attempt to identify the person.

CNN's Erin Burnett was visibly taken aback by the new details as she discussed them on her show, "OutFront."

"Sinister and jarring," she said. "But it's a huge development."

Guthrie, 84, is the mother of "Today" show co-host Savannah Guthrie. She was abducted from her home in Tucson, Arizona, earlier this month. Authorities have not released much information about any suspects in the case. Reports indicate that one person was interviewed by investigators but later released.

Multiple ransom letters regarding Guthrie's abduction have been delivered to investigators and the entertainment news outlet TMZ. One letter demanded a large Bitcoin payment for Guthrie's return. Another demanded to be paid Bitcoin in exchange for information about Guthrie's whereabouts.
