The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) will lead a delegation of 21 Hong Kong tech companies and institutions to showcase at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026 and debut at 4 Years From Now (4YFN) 2026, taking place concurrently from 2-5 March in Barcelona, Spain. This dual presence aims to present a comprehensive picture of Hong Kong’s innovation and technology capabilities to global telecom leaders, enterprise decision-makers, industry partners, and investors.
Building on momentum from MWC 2025, the delegation will feature solutions across Devices and Systems, Digital Transformation, and Connectivity categories, with support from Ecosystem Partners. The Hong Kong Tech Pavilion is designed to bridge cutting-edge research and development into real-world applications while propelling Hong Kong’s I&T sector onto the international stage. Iris Wong, Director of Merchandise Trade and Innovation at HKTDC, stated that the pavilion serves as an ideal platform for Hong Kong tech enterprises to present their latest R&D achievements at major international gatherings while supporting their journey to explore overseas markets.
Derek Chim, Head of Startup Ecosystem and Development at HKSTP, emphasized that MWC serves as a global bellwether for communications technology where companies can connect with industry and investors to validate solutions, catalyze pilot projects, accelerate commercialization, and scale internationally. A series of dialogues and exchanges will take place throughout the events at the Pavilion to facilitate partnerships and investment opportunities for market-ready solutions with high expansion potential.
Two companies exemplify the delegation’s focus on market-ready innovations. Shannon & Turing (Asmote), exhibiting at MWC, specializes in mmWave technology for Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC) technology, particularly for drone communications and control. The company previously secured the world’s first 26GHz mmWave 5G commercial communications project, demonstrating leadership in industrial-grade applications relevant to smart ports and dark factories. Meanwhile, Cresento, exhibiting at 4YFN, focuses on developing an AI-powered shin guard that delivers real-time performance analytics and team leaderboards for football players, moving from prototypes to pilot collaborations with European football clubs and academies.
The collaboration between HKTDC and HKSTP aims to support Hong Kong tech enterprises in going global by building bridges linking tech companies with international markets. This initiative seeks to expedite the industry’s progress in internationalization to meet growing global demand for innovation and technology while attracting talent and facilitating forward-looking investments.
