The internet didn't hold back on Tuesday after the Department of Justice made a major mistake in its lawsuit trying to overturn New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill's executive order that restricts federal immigration authorities while on state property.

In the lawsuit, the Justice Department misspelled her name five of the eight times she was mentioned — among other typos, Politico's Matt Friedman noted.

People on social media shared their reactions to the errors.

"The Department of Justice's lawsuit to overturn Gov. Mikie Sherrill's executive order that limits ICE presence on state property misspells her name five of the eight times she's mentioned," Friedman, author of Politico's New Jersey Playbook, wrote on X.

"And also misspells 'fulfill' in the first paragraph (h/t @chrisgeidner)," Aaron Reichlin-Melnick, senior fellow at the American Immigration Council, wrote on X.

"They are really bringing their best and brightest," Antoinette Miles, state director at New Jersey Working Families, wrote on X.

"Truly brilliant legal minds," Governor Sherrill Press Office, which is run by Sherrill's team to troll President Donald Trump, wrote on X.

"Hard to believe universities don't hire more Republicans," Stan Veuger, American Enterprise Institute senior fellow, wrote on X.

"Mikie Sheriff," editor and author Mike Freeman wrote on X.
