Aptos Labs Announces the Launch of its Futures Exchange, Decibel! Here Are the Details

Aptos Labs has announced the official launch of Decibel, a perpetual futures exchange. The platform will operate using a Central Limit Order Book (CLOB) model, executing all trading processes on-chain.

Decibel performs all core exchange functions, such as order entry, matching, clearing, and risk management, through smart contracts on the Aptos blockchain. This structure aims to increase the transparency and verifiability of transactions, while offering a more open market infrastructure compared to centralized systems.

The Decibel Foundation announced that the platform will not be limited to crypto derivatives. According to the roadmap, spot markets, a multi-collateral account structure, and tokenized real-world assets (RWA) will be integrated into the system in the future. Thus, Decibel aims to transform from a crypto derivatives-focused exchange into a more comprehensive digital asset platform.

The perpetual futures market stands out as one of the rapidly growing segments in decentralized finance (DeFi). Projects adopting an on-chain order book model, in particular, aim to combine the speed and depth advantages of centralized exchanges with the transparency features of blockchain.

Decibel’s launch is seen as a significant step that could increase competition in the derivatives markets within the Aptos ecosystem.
