Brandon Herrera, the Second Amendment advocate running against a GOP lawmaker facing affair allegations, called to "bring back smoking on airplanes."
During a Thursday interview, MAGA influencer Benny Johnson noted that Herrera could find himself with a seat on the Oversight Committee if he defeats Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-TX) amid the affair scandal. The interview came as former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was testifying to the Oversight Committee about sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
"I know that the recent polling looks awesome for you," Johnson said.
"And no, I'm looking forward to it actually giving this district a little bit of representation for somebody who wants to actually serve the constituents and serve the Constitution and Republican values and not somebody that's in it to serve themselves and, you know, prey on their staff," Herrera replied before Johnson urged his viewers to follow the candidate on X.
"Somebody told me X is the smoking section of the internet," the MAGA influencer noted. "I remember smoking sections at restaurants."
"Bro, have you ever been to a McDonald's with a smoking section?" Johnson wondered. "That's the generational difference."
"We used to be a proper country," Herrera argued. "Yeah, I think we should bring back smoking on airplanes."
"Dude, I was on an airplane the other day, and they had an ashtray in the back of the room," Johnson said. "And I was like, man, these are like ruins of an advanced civilization."
