  • The Ethereum co-founder cautioned against over-dependence on AI for coding.
  • He said human input remains crucial when developing secure and execution-ready code.

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has shared a new insight, explaining how Artificial Intelligence  (AI) could advance the crypto space. In a tweet dated February 28, the co-founder noted that AI is gradually changing how software is built. He said this might help the Ethereum blockchain to expand beyond expectations.

Explaining his point further, the Ethereum co-founder disclosed that he completed the code to draft Ethereum’s 2030 roadmap in a few weeks using AI tools. He said this would have taken months to complete with other non-AI-powered technologies. Buterin also shared a personal example highlighting how AI has made many repetitive tasks seamless.

According to him, his blog software version was designed in roughly one hour. He was able to achieve such a feat with an open-source AI model running locally on his personal computer. The co-founder added that he would have completed the task earlier using stronger AI models. While he praised AI speed, the Ethereum co-founder maintained that speed does not equate to perfection.

Buterin Speaks on Error Margins While Using AI for Sophisticated Tasks

The Ethereum co-founder stated that code written very quickly, especially without finalized Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs), has a higher tendency to contain serious bugs. According to him, some parts of the code will be partial versions that will need thorough tests and corrections to meet ideal standards.

Buterin warned developers to cut their expectations for AI. He said they should not expect a simple prompt to produce secure and execution-ready code anytime soon. “There will be lots of wrestling with inconsistencies between implementations. But even that wrestling can happen faster and more thoroughly,” the Ethereum co-founder stressed.

What AI Should Be Used for

In his tweet, Buterin emphasized balance in the use of AI for coding. He said if AI makes coding twice as fast, developers should dedicate more time to improving security. This means that more time should go into writing more elaborate test cases, running deeper checks, verifying code with math-based proofs, and creating multiple independent versions of the same feature.

The Ethereum co-founder cited an example, using the LeanEthereum project. Using AI, a contributor succeeded in drafting a machine verification proof for STARK technology, an essential component of the blockchain. “A core tenet of LeanEthereum is verification, and AI is greatly accelerating our ability to do that,” he added.

Emphasis Should be on More Testing and Proof

While formal verification is important, Buterin emphasized that it should not be the only benefit of AI. According to him, AI can also generate a large number of tests, exceeding humans’ capacity and increasing the chances of identifying hidden problems early. The Ethereum co-founder, however, cautioned against overconfidence. He explained that AI-generated code will not be perfectly secure on the first try. Developers must review and compare different versions carefully before execution.

Because of these advancements, Buterin hinted that Ethereum’s long-term roadmap could be completed sooner than expected. More importantly, it will be delivered with stronger security standards that beat the expectations of many. “On the security side, I am excited that bug-free code, long considered an idealistic delusion, will become possible and then a basic expectation,” he added.

Overall, Buterin admitted that total security is impossible. In addition, he noted that perfect alignment between human intent and code cannot fully exist. However, he believes that in many cases, clear security claims can be made, tested, and proven. He added that stronger verification is not just about cleaner code but about trust, which AI could help bring closer to reality.

A Netflix ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ Short Film Has Been Rated For Release

The post A Netflix ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ Short Film Has Been Rated For Release appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. KPop Demon Hunters Netflix Everyone has wondered what may be the next step for KPop Demon Hunters as an IP, given its record-breaking success on Netflix. Now, the answer may be something exactly no one predicted. According to a new filing with the MPA, something called Debut: A KPop Demon Hunters Story has been rated PG by the ratings body. It’s listed alongside some other films, and this is obviously something that has not been publicly announced. A short film could be well, very short, a few minutes, and likely no more than ten. Even that might be pushing it. Using say, Pixar shorts as a reference, most are between 4 and 8 minutes. The original movie is an hour and 36 minutes. The “Debut” in the title indicates some sort of flashback, perhaps to when HUNTR/X first arrived on the scene before they blew up. Previously, director Maggie Kang has commented about how there were more backstory components that were supposed to be in the film that were cut, but hinted those could be explored in a sequel. But perhaps some may be put into a short here. I very much doubt those scenes were fully produced and simply cut, but perhaps they were finished up for this short film here. When would Debut: KPop Demon Hunters theoretically arrive? I’m not sure the other films on the list are much help. Dead of Winter is out in less than two weeks. Mother Mary does not have a release date. Ne Zha 2 came out earlier this year. I’ve only seen news stories saying The Perfect Gamble was supposed to come out in Q1 2025, but I’ve seen no evidence that it actually has. KPop Demon Hunters Netflix It could be sooner rather than later as Netflix looks to capitalize…
