Pi Network, one of the most closely watched projects in the cryptocurrency and Web3 space, has issued a critical update regarding its upcoming system migration. According to official sources, the network will transition to Version 20 (V20) on March 12, 2026. This migration marks a significant milestone for the ecosystem, signaling improvements in speed, efficiency, and user experience. For crypto enthusiasts and Pi users worldwide, understanding the implications of this migration is essential.

What is the V20 Migration?

The V20 migration represents a major upgrade to the Pi Network ecosystem. Unlike traditional updates that require manual intervention or complicated procedures, this migration is designed to be seamless and fast. Users are advised not to start any migration steps before the specified date to avoid potential errors or inconsistencies. The upgrade emphasizes automation, ensuring that the network transitions smoothly without disrupting the user experience or requiring data transfers.

The Pi Network team has highlighted that the migration process is extremely rapid, with a countdown window of less than 15 minutes. This speed is remarkable in the crypto space, where network upgrades often involve hours or even days of downtime. The V20 migration is therefore expected to set a new standard in how decentralized networks implement upgrades, combining reliability with efficiency.

No Data or Migration Required

One of the most critical points for users is that no data backup or manual migration is necessary. Pi holders do not need to perform any actions on their accounts or wallets before the upgrade. This approach reduces friction and minimizes the risk of user error, which is a common challenge in the crypto ecosystem. By automating the migration process, Pi Network ensures that all users transition to V20 without disruption, maintaining trust and confidence in the platform.

The simplicity of this migration underscores Pi Network’s focus on user accessibility. Unlike other projects that require technical knowledge, complex downloads, or risk-prone procedures, V20 is designed so that anyone, regardless of experience level, can remain fully operational on the network without interruption. This approach aligns with Pi Network’s broader mission of creating a decentralized, inclusive economy that welcomes all participants.

Why March 12, 2026, is Critical

The migration is strictly scheduled for March 12, 2026. Initiating any migration before this date is strongly discouraged, as the system will not support early updates. Timing is crucial due to the automated nature of the upgrade, ensuring that all network nodes synchronize simultaneously. This coordinated approach minimizes errors, maintains security, and guarantees that Pi holders experience a smooth transition.

The precise scheduling of this migration reflects the network’s commitment to reliability and transparency. In decentralized systems, any unsynchronized upgrade can lead to discrepancies in blockchain data, transaction issues, or even temporary network outages. By enforcing a strict migration date, Pi Network ensures both operational stability and the integrity of its ledger.

Implications for Crypto Users

For investors and users of Pi Network, the V20 migration carries several implications. First, it reinforces the network’s technical robustness and ability to implement upgrades with minimal disruption. This is a positive signal for long-term adoption, as it demonstrates that Pi Network can evolve without compromising user trust.

Second, the migration may set the stage for future features within the ecosystem. While details of post-migration improvements have not been fully disclosed, network upgrades of this magnitude typically enable enhanced functionalities, improved scalability, and increased network security. For Pi holders, this could mean faster transactions, better user interfaces, and broader integration with other Web3 applications.

Third, the simplicity of the process underscores Pi Network’s focus on inclusivity. By removing technical barriers, the network ensures that a wider audience can participate without fear of losing assets or encountering errors. This aligns with the broader vision of Web3, where decentralization is paired with accessibility, transparency, and fairness.

Preparing for the Migration

Although users do not need to take action during the V20 migration, it is advisable to stay informed. Users should:

Google's AP2 protocol has been released. Does encrypted AI still have a chance?

Google's AP2 protocol has been released. Does encrypted AI still have a chance?

Following the MCP and A2A protocols, the AI Agent market has seen another blockbuster arrival: the Agent Payments Protocol (AP2), developed by Google. This will clearly further enhance AI Agents' autonomous multi-tasking capabilities, but the unfortunate reality is that it has little to do with web3AI. Let's take a closer look: What problem does AP2 solve? Simply put, the MCP protocol is like a universal hook, enabling AI agents to connect to various external tools and data sources; A2A is a team collaboration communication protocol that allows multiple AI agents to cooperate with each other to complete complex tasks; AP2 completes the last piece of the puzzle - payment capability. In other words, MCP opens up connectivity, A2A promotes collaboration efficiency, and AP2 achieves value exchange. The arrival of AP2 truly injects "soul" into the autonomous collaboration and task execution of Multi-Agents. Imagine AI Agents connecting Qunar, Meituan, and Didi to complete the booking of flights, hotels, and car rentals, but then getting stuck at the point of "self-payment." What's the point of all that multitasking? So, remember this: AP2 is an extension of MCP+A2A, solving the last mile problem of AI Agent automated execution. What are the technical highlights of AP2? The core innovation of AP2 is the Mandates mechanism, which is divided into real-time authorization mode and delegated authorization mode. Real-time authorization is easy to understand. The AI Agent finds the product and shows it to you. The operation can only be performed after the user signs. Delegated authorization requires the user to set rules in advance, such as only buying the iPhone 17 when the price drops to 5,000. The AI Agent monitors the trigger conditions and executes automatically. The implementation logic is cryptographically signed using Verifiable Credentials (VCs). Users can set complex commission conditions, including price ranges, time limits, and payment method priorities, forming a tamper-proof digital contract. Once signed, the AI Agent executes according to the conditions, with VCs ensuring auditability and security at every step. Of particular note is the "A2A x402" extension, a technical component developed by Google specifically for crypto payments, developed in collaboration with Coinbase and the Ethereum Foundation. This extension enables AI Agents to seamlessly process stablecoins, ETH, and other blockchain assets, supporting native payment scenarios within the Web3 ecosystem. What kind of imagination space can AP2 bring? After analyzing the technical principles, do you think that's it? Yes, in fact, the AP2 is boring when it is disassembled alone. Its real charm lies in connecting and opening up the "MCP+A2A+AP2" technology stack, completely opening up the complete link of AI Agent's autonomous analysis+execution+payment. From now on, AI Agents can open up many application scenarios. For example, AI Agents for stock investment and financial management can help us monitor the market 24/7 and conduct independent transactions. Enterprise procurement AI Agents can automatically replenish and renew without human intervention. AP2's complementary payment capabilities will further expand the penetration of the Agent-to-Agent economy into more scenarios. Google obviously understands that after the technical framework is established, the ecological implementation must be relied upon, so it has brought in more than 60 partners to develop it, almost covering the entire payment and business ecosystem. Interestingly, it also involves major Crypto players such as Ethereum, Coinbase, MetaMask, and Sui. Combined with the current trend of currency and stock integration, the imagination space has been doubled. Is web3 AI really dead? Not entirely. Google's AP2 looks complete, but it only achieves technical compatibility with Crypto payments. It can only be regarded as an extension of the traditional authorization framework and belongs to the category of automated execution. There is a "paradigm" difference between it and the autonomous asset management pursued by pure Crypto native solutions. The Crypto-native solutions under exploration are taking the "decentralized custody + on-chain verification" route, including AI Agent autonomous asset management, AI Agent autonomous transactions (DeFAI), AI Agent digital identity and on-chain reputation system (ERC-8004...), AI Agent on-chain governance DAO framework, AI Agent NPC and digital avatars, and many other interesting and fun directions. Ultimately, once users get used to AI Agent payments in traditional fields, their acceptance of AI Agents autonomously owning digital assets will also increase. And for those scenarios that AP2 cannot reach, such as anonymous transactions, censorship-resistant payments, and decentralized asset management, there will always be a time for crypto-native solutions to show their strength? The two are more likely to be complementary rather than competitive, but to be honest, the key technological advancements behind AI Agents currently all come from web2AI, and web3AI still needs to keep up the good work!

UK Looks to US to Adopt More Crypto-Friendly Approach

UK Looks to US to Adopt More Crypto-Friendly Approach

The post UK Looks to US to Adopt More Crypto-Friendly Approach appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. The UK and US are reportedly preparing to deepen cooperation on digital assets, with Britain looking to copy the Trump administration’s crypto-friendly stance in a bid to boost innovation.  UK Chancellor Rachel Reeves and US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent discussed on Tuesday how the two nations could strengthen their coordination on crypto, the Financial Times reported on Tuesday, citing people familiar with the matter.  The discussions also involved representatives from crypto companies, including Coinbase, Circle Internet Group and Ripple, with executives from the Bank of America, Barclays and Citi also attending, according to the report. The agreement was made “last-minute” after crypto advocacy groups urged the UK government on Thursday to adopt a more open stance toward the industry, claiming its cautious approach to the sector has left the country lagging in innovation and policy.  Source: Rachel Reeves Deal to include stablecoins, look to unlock adoption Any deal between the countries is likely to include stablecoins, the Financial Times reported, an area of crypto that US President Donald Trump made a policy priority and in which his family has significant business interests. The Financial Times reported on Monday that UK crypto advocacy groups also slammed the Bank of England’s proposal to limit individual stablecoin holdings to between 10,000 British pounds ($13,650) and 20,000 pounds ($27,300), claiming it would be difficult and expensive to implement. UK banks appear to have slowed adoption too, with around 40% of 2,000 recently surveyed crypto investors saying that their banks had either blocked or delayed a payment to a crypto provider.  Many of these actions have been linked to concerns over volatility, fraud and scams. The UK has made some progress on crypto regulation recently, proposing a framework in May that would see crypto exchanges, dealers, and agents treated similarly to traditional finance firms, with…
