A new era of motoring is on the horizon, arriving with confidence, distinctive design and a clear electrified focus. The all-new iCAUR V23, from the Chery Group’s adventure-focused electric SUV brand, is set to debut in South Africa in May 2026, bringing competitive pricing, generous standard specification and retro-inspired styling to the local EV market.

The V23 marks iCAUR’s first model for South Africa and introduces a different take on the electric SUV formula. With its squared-off proportions and modern electric underpinnings, it blends nostalgic design cues with contemporary technology in a package aimed at buyers looking for something out of the ordinary.

Two derivatives will be available at launch: the V23 2WD and the V23 AWD.

The 2WD is equipped with a 60 kWh battery and a single electric motor. The AWD variant features a larger 82 kWh battery pack and a dual-motor all-wheel drive setup, with power, torque, and range estimates to be communicated closer to the launch date.

When connected to a DC fast charger, the 2WD can charge from 20% to 80% in 36 minutes, while the 4WD completes the same charge in just over 40 minutes.

The V23 uses disc brakes all round, with ventilated discs at the front. Suspension consists of MacPherson struts up front and a multi-link rear setup. 2WDmodels ride on 19-inch wheels fitted with 255/55 tyres, while the AWD gains 21-inch wheels wrapped in 265/45 R21 rubber.

Inside, buyers can choose from three interior colour options. Both derivatives come standard with leather upholstery, electrically adjustable front seats, a seven-speaker sound system, and a 15.4-inch central touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Safety specification includes six airbags, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, ESP, and traction control across the range. The AWD adds a suite of driver assistance features such as adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, blind spot detection, and forward collision warning. The 2WD is equipped with cruise control and a reverse camera. LED headlights are standard on both models.

“The V23 represents an important step for the iCAUR brand in South Africa,” says Shannon Gahagan, National Brand and Marketing Manager at iCAUR South Africa. “It brings together distinctive design, modern electric performance and innovation, supported by a strong standard specification, in a way that we believe will resonate with local buyers. We look forward to sharing more details closer to launch.”

Further information, including full specifications, pricing and confirmed local availability, will be announced ahead of the V23’s arrival in May 2026.
