GCash has announced a temporary waiver of transaction fees for overseas Filipinos residing in the Middle East.

The fee waiver aims to alleviate financial strain on customers amidst ongoing regional uncertainty.

The initiative applies to GCash Overseas account holders based in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Oman.

Under this scheme, the fintech company will cover charges incurred from bank transfers, mobile load purchases, and bill payments.

GCash will process the reimbursements retroactively through a cashback system.

For eligible transactions completed between 4 and 10 March 2026, the company will credit the corresponding cashback to users’ accounts on 20 March 2026.

Meanwhile, it will refund fees from transactions made between 11 and 14 March 2026 on 27 March 2026.

According to the firm, this programme aims to help overseas workers easily maintain communication with their families. It also ensures they can manage their finances without enduring additional monetary strain.

Alongside the financial relief, GCash advised individuals requiring urgent support to reach out to their local Philippine Embassy or Consulate.

The company also directed users to the official emergency hotlines operated by the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Department of Migrant Workers.
