PANews reported on March 11 that, according to Decrypt, the NBA-themed crypto project Basketball.fun is processing refunds for buyers of digital card packs who are unwilling to wait for them to launch on its marketplace next month. The project began allowing users to purchase digital player card packs featuring NBA players in January, but users are currently unable to sell or trade these assets. The project's co-founder stated that they have received 24 refund requests totaling less than $2,000, and the company is also offering a 10% holding bonus to users willing to wait until the NBA playoffs begin trading in April.
NBA player Tristan Thompson, who previously served as a consultant for the project, has left the project. Thompson stated that he was proud to help support the vision in its early stages but is no longer actively involved as the platform continues to develop. The project team stated that Thompson left several weeks ago and is currently exploring other opportunities. Basketball.fun plans to launch a digital card pack sale on the Basechain later this month to expand its ecosystem.
