TLDR

  • Ammalgam integrates lending, trading, and market-making into a single onchain infrastructure.
  • Oracle-free pricing system calculates risk and value directly from onchain liquidity.
  • Vault products enable passive users to access sophisticated DeFi strategies effortlessly.
  • Consolidated liquidity infrastructure eliminates fragmentation and enhances capital utilization.
  • Platform goes live following comprehensive security audits and backing from leading investors.

Ammalgam has officially gone live on mainnet with its innovative DeFi protocol that merges lending, trading, and market-making capabilities. The platform’s architecture prioritizes capital efficiency through liquidity reuse in a consolidated onchain framework. This integration enables users to maximize their capital deployment while minimizing the structural vulnerabilities prevalent in DeFi.

The protocol delivers enhanced yield generation for passive Liquidity Providers through its multi-functional design. Unlike traditional platforms, Ammalgam operates without external price oracles, maintaining all execution and risk assessment functions onchain. This mainnet deployment represents the completion of more than twelve months of rigorous development and extensive testing phases.

By enabling seamless capital redeployment, Ammalgam addresses the liquidity fragmentation challenge that affects separate DeFi sectors. The system accommodates sophisticated trading approaches while automating lending and borrowing operations. Both professional traders and passive investors seeking streamlined DeFi participation represent the platform’s target audience.

Unified Onchain Liquidity Enhances Efficiency and Risk Management

Ammalgam determines asset prices and risk parameters directly from available onchain liquidity rather than external information sources. This methodology eliminates exposure to external data dependencies that could compromise system integrity. Critical functions including liquidations and borrowing caps operate based on actual real-time execution capacity.

This architectural decision addresses significant security concerns related to oracle exploitation and delayed price information. The protocol implements continuous updates to internal systems, ensuring consistent execution performance. Participants engage with a completely onchain ecosystem, facilitating enhanced operational security.

The integrated framework enables sophisticated trading strategies without requiring users to navigate multiple separate protocols. Liquidity Providers can allocate capital through a streamlined process while gaining exposure to diverse market activities. All transactions and operations within Ammalgam maintain complete onchain auditability and executability.

Onchain Vaults Offer Passive Strategy Exposure

Coinciding with its mainnet release, Ammalgam unveiled Vaults—managed onchain strategy instruments designed for passive participation. Participants can contribute assets including ETH, USDC, or BTC to designated Vaults. Contributors receive ERC-7540-standard tokens representing their proportional stake in the underlying strategy.

These Vaults employ flexible allocation mechanisms, initially channeling deposits into established third-party vaults before transitioning to proprietary Ammalgam liquidity pools. Withdrawal procedures differ across Vault types, with settlement timelines and associated fees transparently communicated. The platform prioritizes disclosure, ensuring participants comprehend all timing, management, and performance parameters.

Lagoon Finance provides the underlying infrastructure while Ammalgam maintains control over strategy implementation. Future Vault offerings are scheduled as platform liquidity expands and user engagement intensifies. Comprehensive security evaluations conducted by OxMacro, ChainSecurity, Spearbit, and Cantina underpin the platform’s mainnet security posture.

Ammalgam gained industry visibility in 2024 following a $2.5 million seed funding round. Lightspeed Faction and Framework Ventures jointly led the investment, with participation from Robot Ventures and Bodhi Ventures. Notable angel investors included Kain Warwick, Anton Bukov, Spencer Noon, and Jordi Alexander.

The protocol’s core philosophy centers on delivering a completely onchain, unified DeFi experience spanning lending, market-making, and trading functions. Through reduced reliance on external systems, Ammalgam provides superior execution stability and capital optimization. This mainnet introduction establishes Ammalgam as an emerging innovator in advanced DeFi infrastructure.

Is Hyperliquid the new frontier for innovation?

The post Is Hyperliquid the new frontier for innovation? appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. This is a segment from the 0xResearch newsletter. To read full editions, subscribe. One of the key things I like to track in crypto is a subjective criterion I call “where are new interesting developments and proposals taking place.” There are plenty of dashboards and analytics sites for this, the most popular being the Electric Capital site. The issue is that it still shows Polkadot as having a lot of developers. (At Blockworks we solved the noise problem with active users; maybe we can try the same for active developers.) Because of this noise, I prefer to track two simple observations: What is the velocity of new products launching, and how much mindshare are these products capturing? Are many people getting nerdsniped into discussing the novelties and intricacies of the chain? A related point is the caliber of people being attracted to new ecosystems. For example, over the past few years, Solana (and Ethereum) attracted the majority of talent. Talent generally goes where: It can solve interesting problems or create interesting projects. It can make a lot of money. In a podcast I did with Icebergy about a year ago, we discussed how crypto still wasn’t attracting talent at the levels AI was, despite offering faster exits and more money. AI was (and probably still is) more interesting to most talent and seen as more prestigious. After FTX, crypto lost a lot of credibility and has only recently started recovering as larger institutional players re-entered. Apart from FTX, crypto has also been criticized for being full of low-effort forks and limited utility products. This dynamic isn’t unique to crypto though. Many AI companies are also just building wrappers around GPT, which is as uninteresting as some projects in crypto. Anyway, to the point: Historically, Solana has captured the majority of…
