AfBC Professional Excellence Award nominations include FurtherAfrica contributor Dr. Kalkidan Esayas, reflecting growing recognition of African professionals shaping sustainability and ESG dialogue.

The African Business Chamber has announced the nomination of Dr. Kalkidan Esayas, PhD, for the AfBC Professional Excellence Award as part of the 2026 edition of the AfBC African Business Awards, recognising professionals whose work contributes to stronger institutions, responsible business practices, and knowledge leadership across Africa.

Dr. Esayas, who serves as a consultant, master trainer, and researcher at Kal Consulting, is also a member of the editorial community contributing analysis and insights to FurtherAfrica, a platform focused on the continent’s economic transformation, markets, and global partnerships. Her nomination reflects the growing influence of African professionals working at the intersection of sustainability, policy dialogue, and private sector development.

Recognition of professional leadership

The Professional Excellence Award category highlights individuals who demonstrate consistent professional performance, ethical leadership, and measurable impact in their fields. According to the organisers, the recognition aims to spotlight professionals who influence institutional progress while contributing to knowledge sharing and sector development.

Across Africa’s rapidly evolving economic landscape, the integration of environmental, social and governance standards has gained prominence. Institutions such as the African Development Bank and the United Nations have increasingly emphasised sustainability frameworks as part of long-term development strategies. Professionals working in ESG and sustainability therefore play an expanding role in shaping corporate and policy practices across the continent.

Knowledge platforms and continental dialogue

Beyond her advisory work, Dr. Esayas contributes to policy discussions through research, training programmes, and professional commentary. Her collaboration with the editorial community at FurtherAfrica reflects a broader trend in which independent economic platforms support informed debate on investment, governance, and sustainable development.

Platforms such as FurtherAfrica also provide space for cross-regional dialogue, particularly as African economies strengthen partnerships with Asia and with investors from the Gulf region. These exchanges increasingly shape policy thinking around trade, climate resilience, and long-term economic transformation.

Award timeline and next steps

The AfBC African Business Awards follow a structured evaluation process. Nominations closed on 28 February 2026 and are currently undergoing committee review and technical screening. The shortlist of finalists is expected in April 2026, while the final winners will be announced during the AfBC African Business Awards Gala scheduled for 29 May 2026 in London.

The awards programme convenes business leaders, policymakers, investors, and professionals from across the African diaspora. According to the organisers, the process prioritises the quality of professional impact and the strength of evidence supporting each nomination rather than public voting. The initiative therefore seeks to highlight professional excellence while strengthening connections among African and international stakeholders engaged in the continent’s economic development.

A Netflix ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ Short Film Has Been Rated For Release

The post A Netflix ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ Short Film Has Been Rated For Release appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. KPop Demon Hunters Netflix Everyone has wondered what may be the next step for KPop Demon Hunters as an IP, given its record-breaking success on Netflix. Now, the answer may be something exactly no one predicted. According to a new filing with the MPA, something called Debut: A KPop Demon Hunters Story has been rated PG by the ratings body. It’s listed alongside some other films, and this is obviously something that has not been publicly announced. A short film could be well, very short, a few minutes, and likely no more than ten. Even that might be pushing it. Using say, Pixar shorts as a reference, most are between 4 and 8 minutes. The original movie is an hour and 36 minutes. The “Debut” in the title indicates some sort of flashback, perhaps to when HUNTR/X first arrived on the scene before they blew up. Previously, director Maggie Kang has commented about how there were more backstory components that were supposed to be in the film that were cut, but hinted those could be explored in a sequel. But perhaps some may be put into a short here. I very much doubt those scenes were fully produced and simply cut, but perhaps they were finished up for this short film here. When would Debut: KPop Demon Hunters theoretically arrive? I’m not sure the other films on the list are much help. Dead of Winter is out in less than two weeks. Mother Mary does not have a release date. Ne Zha 2 came out earlier this year. I’ve only seen news stories saying The Perfect Gamble was supposed to come out in Q1 2025, but I’ve seen no evidence that it actually has. KPop Demon Hunters Netflix It could be sooner rather than later as Netflix looks to capitalize…

One Of Frank Sinatra’s Most Famous Albums Is Back In The Spotlight

The post One Of Frank Sinatra’s Most Famous Albums Is Back In The Spotlight appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Frank Sinatra’s The World We Knew returns to the Jazz Albums and Traditional Jazz Albums charts, showing continued demand for his timeless music. Frank Sinatra performs on his TV special Frank Sinatra: A Man and his Music Bettmann Archive These days on the Billboard charts, Frank Sinatra’s music can always be found on the jazz-specific rankings. While the art he created when he was still working was pop at the time, and later classified as traditional pop, there is no such list for the latter format in America, and so his throwback projects and cuts appear on jazz lists instead. It’s on those charts where Sinatra rebounds this week, and one of his popular projects returns not to one, but two tallies at the same time, helping him increase the total amount of real estate he owns at the moment. Frank Sinatra’s The World We Knew Returns Sinatra’s The World We Knew is a top performer again, if only on the jazz lists. That set rebounds to No. 15 on the Traditional Jazz Albums chart and comes in at No. 20 on the all-encompassing Jazz Albums ranking after not appearing on either roster just last frame. The World We Knew’s All-Time Highs The World We Knew returns close to its all-time peak on both of those rosters. Sinatra’s classic has peaked at No. 11 on the Traditional Jazz Albums chart, just missing out on becoming another top 10 for the crooner. The set climbed all the way to No. 15 on the Jazz Albums tally and has now spent just under two months on the rosters. Frank Sinatra’s Album With Classic Hits Sinatra released The World We Knew in the summer of 1967. The title track, which on the album is actually known as “The World We Knew (Over and…
