Trump flubs his own attack on Irish president

President Donald Trump attacked Ireland's president during an Oval Office meeting with Irish Taoiseach Micheal Martin on Tuesday after being asked about the Irish president's criticism of the Iran war as illegal and violating international law.

The Irish president had stated, "The normalization of war can never be accepted," and called for renewed commitment to peace and diplomacy.

When informed of the criticism, Trump responded dismissively with "Okay, he's lucky I exist," apparently unaware that Ireland's president, Catherine Connolly, is a woman who took office in November.

Trump then defended his Iran policy, claiming he stopped Iran's nuclear development twice, first by terminating the Iran nuclear deal in his first term, which he called "one of maybe the worst deals," because it gave Iran "billions of dollars in green cash."

Trump expressed disappointment in NATO and other countries for not being grateful for U.S. military action.
