Jen Psaki torches MAGA senator who won't explain his dubious 'double super secret' mission

MS NOW's Jen Psaki smacked down a MAGA senator's silence about a "double-super-secret mission" he didn't elaborate on during his confirmation hearing.

Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) appeared before the Senate Homeland Security Committee on Wednesday, where he was questioned by Sen. Gary Peters (D-MI) about previous comments he made concerning foreign travel and Mullin's work for special security forces. During the tense exchange, Mullin did not go into detail about his foreign travel, claiming that it is still "classified."

The exchange was even more bizarre in that it followed a tense back-and-forth between Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), who leads the committee, and Mullin over Mullin's previous statements supporting an individual who had attacked Paul and broken six of his ribs.

Psaki said on Wednesday's broadcast of her show, "The Briefing," that Mullin's hearing "left many remaining questions."

"Now, look, there are a lot of remaining questions about why Markwayne Mullin felt the need to root for the neighbor who beat up Rand Paul, and what double-super-secret mission he may have been on, but what today's hearing made very clear is that he is not prepared for the job of Homeland Security Secretary," she said.

Mullin was nominated to take over the Department of Homeland Security at the end of March after former Secretary Kristi Noem was dismissed.
