Iranian Foreign Minister: Seeking a complete end to the war, not just a temporary ceasefire

PANews reported on March 21 that, according to Kyodo News, Iranian Foreign Minister Araqchi stated that Iran hopes for a complete, comprehensive, and lasting end to the war, not just a temporary ceasefire. In a telephone interview with Kyodo News on March 20, Araqchi said that the attacks on Iran by the United States and Israel were illegal and unjustified acts of aggression, and he hoped the world would unite in opposition. Several countries have begun to push for a ceasefire, but Iran is only considering a solution that ends the war decisively. Iran does not accept a temporary ceasefire but demands a complete end to the war, including ensuring that Iran will not be attacked again and compensation for the losses suffered. Araqchi also said he does not believe the United States is ready for negotiations. The report also stated that Araqchi expressed his intention to allow Japanese vessels to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, a vital energy transport route, after consultation with Japan.
