First Lady Melania Trump convened an education summit as part of her "Be Best" initiative, but could only stay for seven minutes.
On Tuesday, the First Lady's office announced a roundtable event titled "Melania Trump's Fostering the Future Together Global Coalition Summit at the U.S. State Department."
According to a pool report, Trump arrived at the event at 10:01 am.
"This room is filled with extraordinary human capital. Leaders: harness it to elevate your children, to empower your people, and to accelerate your economies," she said in her opening remarks. "Our coalition of leaders will improve our future, but only by supporting concrete initiatives that equip young people with the skills and knowledge they need. Together, let's invest, expand access, and create opportunities for education and technology."
The pool report noted that the first lady was "wearing a gray caviar tweed pantsuit from Dolce & Gabbana," adding that she "addressed the summit and then departed at 10:08 am."
In total, Trump was at the "Be Best" event for seven minutes, the report said.
The first lady reportedly invited 45 nations to the event.
