Another ally of former Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has found herself in legal jeopardy over delays in responding to a natural disaster, according to a new report.

Bloomberg reported on Monday that Kara Voorhies, who was installed at the Federal Emergency Management Agency by Noem's top advisor, Corey Lewandowski, is facing a DHS Inspector General probe into her role in responding to the deadly floods in Texas last year. Voorhies retained outsized influence on agency contracting and spending decisions while she worked at DHS, according to the report.

"One senior official involved in the response said requests routed through DHS channels, including Voorhies, went unanswered for hours as conditions on the ground worsened," Bloomberg reported. "The official said they ultimately moved forward with releasing aid without formal approval, concluding the process was slowing the response."

Voorhies is the second Noem ally to come under legal scrutiny since Noem departed DHS at the end of March. Tricia McLaughlin, a former DHS spokesperson, and her husband have also faced allegations of benefitting from a massive $220 million advertising contract from DHS, according to reports.
