Algorand Foundation is thrilled to welcome five new team members joining from Algorand Technologies. Following the announcement of protocol and ecosystem operations uniting under Algorand Foundation, key team members have joined the Foundation to support protocol engineering, including Chris Peikert, John Jannotti, Pavel Zbitskiy, and John Lee.
Chris Peikert has joined the Algorand Foundation as Chief Scientific Officer. Chris was previously Head of Cryptography at Algorand Technologies and is currently the Arthur W. Burks Collegiate Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Michigan and a Fellow of the IACR (International Association for Cryptology Research). Chris is a global leader in lattice-based and post-quantum cryptography. He led Algorand’s post-quantum security implementations and will continue this work as Chief Scientific Officer.
Four engineers have joined the Foundation to support protocol engineering. John Jannotti joined as Senior Vice President of Protocol Engineering and will lead the Protocol Engineering team. Under John, Pavel Zbitskiy and an additional team member joined as Principal Protocol Engineers. Additionally, John Lee joined as Director of Protocol Infrastructure.
Chris, John, Pavel, and John are invaluable additions to the Algorand Foundation technical team and will help further our position as the blockchain for financial empowerment. Together, our new team will continue to support Algorand Foundation’s work on enabling payments, asset tokenization, and decentralized financial infrastructure worldwide.
