Bybit and Binance charge the same 0.10% on spot, Binance charges 0.005 percentage points less on perpetual takers, and the real difference in 2026 is geography: Binance stopped serving the European Economic Area on 1 July, Bybit left Japan the same month, and neither serves the United States, so for most readers the map decides before the fee table does.

Key Takeaways
  • Both platforms charge 0.10% maker and 0.10% taker on spot at the entry tier, and both drop to 0.075% when fees are paid in their own token.
  • Perpetual takers pay 0.0550% on Bybit and 0.0500% on Binance, with makers at 0.0200% on both.
  • Binance suspended EEA services on 1 July 2026, while Bybit serves Europe through Bybit EU under a MiCA licence, so European readers have one option, not two.
  • Bybit stopped serving Japanese residents in 2026 and Binance operates there through a separate local entity, and neither global platform serves US residents.
  • Bybit lost about $1.5 billion in a February 2025 theft that the FBI attributed to North Korea and restored full backing, while Binance settled US federal charges for about $4.3 billion in November 2023.
  • MEXC publishes 0% maker and 0.05% taker on spot, so $10,000 of monthly volume costs $2.50 there against $10.00 on either platform here, for readers outside the US, UK and EEA.

After July 2026 this question has a different answer in every region

Most Bybit vs Binance comparisons were written for a world where both platforms were open almost everywhere and the choice came down to copy trading against liquidity.
That world ended in 2026: Binance suspended its services for European Economic Area users on 1 July under the MiCA transition, and Bybit completed its withdrawal from Japan the same month.
The fee tables, meanwhile, moved by hundredths of a point, and the comparison pages that still lead the search results quote neither the new map nor the exact perpetual rates.
This article keeps the two schedules side by side with a verification date on each, puts the four regions that matter most in one matrix, and ends with a verdict by reader type.
Where MEXC fits, it says so in its own clearly labelled section, with the same numbers and the same dates.

A third option worth considering: MEXC

If the fee row above is what brought you here, MEXC publishes 0% maker and 0.05% taker on spot, against 0.10% and 0.10% on both platforms in this comparison.
On $10,000 of monthly spot volume split evenly between maker and taker orders, that is $2.50 a month on MEXC against $10.00 on Bybit and $10.00 on Binance at their entry tiers.
On perpetuals the gap holds: MEXC's BTCUSDT contract lists 0.000% maker and 0.020% taker on its web and app schedule, against 0.0200% and 0.0550% on Bybit and 0.0200% and 0.0500% on Binance.
MEXC does not serve residents of the United States or the United Kingdom, is listed on ESMA's non-compliant register for the EEA, and is withdrawing from the Netherlands by 16 November 2026, so check eligibility before funding an account.
Non-US readers can see the full breakdown in our MEXC vs Binance comparison.

Which is cheaper, Bybit or Binance?

On spot they are tied, and on perpetuals Binance is slightly cheaper for takers.
Bybit's VIP 0 spot rate is 0.1000% maker and 0.1000% taker, and Binance's regular-user rate is 0.100% maker and 0.100% taker, so a $1,000 order costs $1.00 on either platform.
Both discount their own token by the same 25% on spot: paying fees in MNT on Bybit or switching on the BNB deduction on Binance brings the rate to 0.075%.
Bybit's fiat pairs carry a higher schedule of 0.1500% maker and 0.2000% taker, and its xStocks and Adventure Zone markets charge 0.2000% on both sides, so a reader trading USD or EUR pairs directly pays more than the headline rate.
Binance's one structural discount is on USDC pairs, where the taker rate is 0.095% and its USDC-margined perpetuals run at 0% maker and 0.040% taker while a promotion lasts.
Bybit's MNT discount does not apply to API trading, and Binance's BNB deduction stops the moment the BNB balance reaches zero, so both discounts need maintenance.
Our quarterly crypto exchange fee index holds both schedules beside ten other platforms and records who publishes fees without an account.

Which is better for derivatives?

Binance is larger and marginally cheaper, and Bybit is built around derivatives in a way that active traders notice.
Bybit charges 0.0200% maker and 0.0550% taker on perpetuals and futures, falling to 0.0180% and 0.0495% with MNT, with options at 0.0200% and 0.0300%.
Binance charges 0.0200% maker and 0.0500% taker on USDT-margined perpetuals, falling to 0.0180% and 0.0450% with the 10% BNB deduction.
On $100,000 of monthly BTCUSDT perpetual notional split evenly between maker and taker orders, that is $37.50 a month on Bybit and $35.00 on Binance at entry rates, or $33.75 and $31.50 with token discounts.
The same notional costs $10.00 on MEXC's BTCUSDT contract at 0.000% maker and 0.020% taker, which is the gap the box above quantifies for readers outside the US, UK and EEA.
Bybit's edge is in the surface: its perpetual interface, unified trading account, copy-trading leaderboards and options suite are the reason many derivatives traders keep an account there despite the 0.005 point difference.
Binance's edge is depth, since it runs the largest derivatives order books in the market, and large orders fill closer to the mid there than anywhere else.

Which lists more coins and lists them faster?

Bybit lists 447 coins across 604 spot pairs on CoinGecko and Binance lists 440 coins across about 1,420 pairs, so the coin counts are level and Binance's pair count is more than double.
The pair gap comes from Binance quoting most assets against several stablecoins, BTC, BNB and fiat currencies, while Bybit concentrates on USDT and USDC pairs.
Both run early-listing programmes, Binance through Alpha and Launchpool and Bybit through its launch and spot listing pipeline, and both hold reserve data on CoinGecko, where Binance scores 10 out of 10 on trust and Bybit scores 8 out of 10.
For a trader who wants breadth of routes rather than breadth of coins, Binance is the wider venue.

Which is better for copy trading and Earn?

Bybit is the copy-trading platform of the two, and Binance is the Earn platform.
Bybit's copy trading is built around master traders, follower tools, rankings and performance history, and it sits at the centre of the product rather than beside it.
Binance offers copy trading on futures, but its Earn suite is the broader one, with flexible and locked products, staking, Dual Investment, Launchpool and on-chain yield products where they are available.
Bybit's xStocks give non-US, non-UK, non-Canadian and non-Australian readers tokenized equities inside the exchange, a product Binance does not offer on its global platform.
Copy trading on either platform is a leveraged product, and followers take on the same liquidation risk as the trader they copy.

Which is safer and better regulated?

Both carry a major event on their record, and both events are fully documented in public sources.
On 21 February 2025 about $1.5 billion in ETH and staked ETH was taken from a Bybit cold wallet during a routine transfer, and the FBI attributed the theft to North Korea's TraderTraitor actors five days later.
Bybit kept withdrawals open throughout, restored full one-to-one backing of client assets within days according to its own statements, and now publishes monthly proof-of-reserves reports verified by a third-party auditor, per Bybit.
In November 2023 Binance and its founder pleaded guilty to US federal charges and agreed to a resolution of about $4.3 billion, according to the US Department of Justice, and a multi-year compliance monitor was installed.
On 1 July 2026 Binance suspended services for EEA users under the MiCA transition, which we explain in our guide to the Binance EU suspension.
Bybit's European entity holds a MiCA licence issued in Austria, per Bybit's own announcements, and Bybit stopped serving Japanese residents in 2026 after repeated warnings from Japan's Financial Services Agency, as DL News reported.
Neither event cost a customer their balance, and both platforms disclose more about reserves and controls today than they did before.

Which is easier to fund and withdraw from?

Both require full identity verification before the first withdrawal, and both fund accounts through cards, P2P markets and local bank rails wherever they hold a licence.
Bybit's default daily withdrawal limit is 1,000,000 USDT at Standard verification and 2,000,000 USDT at Advanced verification.
Binance charges a fixed USDT withdrawal fee that depends on the network: 1.5 USDT on TRC20, 0.3 USDT on ERC20, 0.1 USDT on Arbitrum One and 0.01 USDT on BNB Smart Chain.
For European readers the question is moot on Binance, because its EEA rails closed with the July suspension, and Bybit EU's SEPA rails are the ones that remain.

Where can you actually use Bybit and Binance?

Neither global platform serves United States residents, and Binance.US is a separate company with its own fees and coin list.
In the United Kingdom, Bybit returned in late 2025 with a spot and P2P platform under the FCA's promotions regime, while Binance is not open to new UK retail customers.
In the European Economic Area, Bybit EU operates under a MiCA licence and Binance has been suspended since 1 July 2026.
In Japan, Bybit closed its doors to residents in 2026 and Binance operates through Binance Japan, a separate local entity with its own product set.
The result is that the two platforms overlap in far fewer countries than they did a year ago, and most readers will find only one of them open.

What does a year on Bybit vs Binance really cost?

Price the same activity on each platform at entry rates, split evenly between maker and taker orders.
A trader with $10,000 of monthly spot volume pays about $120 a year on Bybit and about $120 a year on Binance, or $90 on either with the token discount switched on.
A trader with $100,000 of monthly BTCUSDT perpetual notional pays about $450 a year on Bybit and about $420 on Binance at entry rates.
The same two profiles cost about $30 and $120 a year on MEXC at its published 0% maker and 0.05% taker spot schedule and 0.000% maker and 0.020% taker BTCUSDT contract.
Between Bybit and Binance the annual difference is $30 on this derivatives profile and nothing on spot, so features, depth and above all availability should decide the choice.

Who should choose Bybit, and who should choose Binance?

Choose Bybit if you live in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, because it is the one of the two that is open to you.
Choose Bybit if copy trading, options or tokenized equities are part of your plan, or if you prefer a derivatives-first interface.
Choose Binance if you live in a country it serves and you trade size, because its order books are the deepest available and its Earn and listing programmes are the broadest.
Choose Binance if you hold BNB and want the deduction on both spot and futures fees.
Do not open either global platform from the United States, and do not open Binance from the EEA or the UK, because the accounts can be restricted under each platform's own terms.
Readers weighing Bybit against other derivatives venues can use our Bybit alternatives ranking, and readers weighing Binance can use our Binance alternatives comparison.
Readers outside the US, UK and EEA who want the 0% maker schedule on spot and 0.020% taker on BTCUSDT can start with our MEXC vs Binance comparison.

The MEXC View: where we stand on Bybit vs Binance

MEXC Learn is published by MEXC, an exchange that competes with both platforms, so read this section as an interested party's opinion.
We think Binance still runs the deepest order books in the market and that its 0.0500% perpetual taker rate is fair for the fills it delivers.
We think Bybit's handling of the February 2025 theft, with withdrawals open and backing restored within days, is a credit to it, and that its copy-trading product is the best-developed on any large exchange.
We also think the map now matters more than either fee table, and that a European reader comparing the two in 2026 is really choosing between Bybit EU and nothing.
Where MEXC fits is on price for readers outside the US, UK and EEA: 0% maker and 0.05% taker on spot, and 0.000% maker and 0.020% taker on the BTCUSDT contract, with every figure carrying a verification date.
Our review methodology explains how we score exchanges we compete with.

Risk and compliance disclosure

Crypto assets are volatile and you can lose your entire deposit; derivatives, leverage and copy trading add liquidation risk on top of price risk.
Fees, listings and regional availability change; every figure above carries its verification date and should be re-checked before you act on it.
Neither MEXC nor Bybit nor global Binance serves United States residents; US readers should compare the platforms licensed in their state.
MEXC does not accept United Kingdom residents, is listed on ESMA's register of non-compliant entities for the EEA, and is offboarding Netherlands users by 16 November 2026, so the MEXC sections above are informational for readers in those regions.
MEXC appears on Japan's FSA list of unregistered operators; the web platform is reachable but the app is not offered in Japanese app stores.
Nothing here is investment, legal or tax advice.

Key Takea
