What Is PREDICT (Predict.fun)? A Deep Dive Into BNB Chain's Leading

 Prediction Market

Prediction markets have emerged as one of crypto's hottest narratives in 2025–2026. After Polymarket and Kalshi brought event-based trading into the mainstream, BNB Chain quickly developed its own contender. At the center of that push is Predict.fun, a YZi Labs-backed platform repeatedly mentioned by CZ that has become the primary prediction market provider integrated into Binance Wallet.
This article takes a closer look at Predict.fun, covering its product, team, tokenomics, and the regulatory challenges facing both the broader prediction market sector and the platform itself.

Key Takeaways

  • Backed by YZi Labs and integrated into Binance Wallet, Predict.fun stands out for its yield-generating collateral model.
  • Trading volume has surged, but activity remains heavily influenced by points incentives.
  • PREDICT follows a low-float, high-FDV model, creating substantial dilution risk.
  • The token currently lacks a clearly defined revenue-sharing or value-accrual mechanism.
  • Regulatory uncertainty remains a major structural challenge for the entire prediction market sector.

1. What Is Predict.fun?

1.1 Project Overview

Predict.fun is a prediction market platform launched on BNB Chain in 2025. It allows users to trade on the outcomes of real-world events, spanning economics, politics, sports, and digital assets.

From a technical perspective, the project brings together three key components: BNB Chain infrastructure, outcome verification through UMA Optimistic Oracle, and integrations with DeFi protocols such as Venus Protocol.
Unlike conventional DeFi applications, prediction markets depend heavily on accurate event data and reliable outcome resolution. This introduces a distinct set of risks involving oracles, disputed outcomes, and regulatory oversight.

1.2 A More Capital-Efficient Collateral Model

On most prediction markets, capital stays locked until an event is resolved. Predict.fun takes a different approach by deploying collateralized stablecoins into Venus Protocol, BNB Chain's largest lending protocol, allowing collateral to earn yield while positions remain open. Returns depend on actual lending market conditions and are not fixed.
The platform's codebase has been described as a fork of Polymarket, combining an order book with an automated market maker (AMM) while supporting self-custodial trading. Event outcomes are resolved through UMA Optimistic Oracle, where an outcome is first proposed and then enters a challenge period during which other parties can dispute it.
These integrations improve capital efficiency, but they also introduce additional dependencies. An incident affecting Venus or a prolonged oracle dispute could directly impact users' funds.

1.3 Revenue Model

Predict.fun charges taker fees on trades and a 10% management fee on yield generated through Venus. According to DefiLlama, the protocol currently retains all trading fees, an important detail when evaluating PREDICT's tokenomics later in this article.

2. OnChain Data: Organic Growth or Incentive-Driven Activity?

On the positive side, trading fees have risen steadily since August and reached a peak in October. With approximately $10 million in total value locked (TVL) and over $400 million in 30-day trading volume, the platform generates monthly capital turnover of roughly 40 times its TVL.

That figure, however, deserves closer scrutiny. Much of the activity took place during Season 1 of the Predict Points program, which incentivized users to trade repeatedly to accumulate points. Exceptionally high capital turnover may reflect points farming rather than genuine, organic demand for event predictions. Meanwhile, TVL, which measures the capital users actually have deposited on the platform, has fallen by roughly half since the beginning of the year.
A relevant precedent is Opinion, another YZi Labs-backed prediction market. In early 2026, Opinion's TVL stood at approximately $155 million. After its airdrop ended, TVL dropped to $3 million, while its OPN token fell 83% during its first week. Predict.fun has adjusted Season 2 so that liquidity points are awarded only for orders that actually get filled. Still, whether the platform can retain capital after its token generation event (TGE) can only be assessed using data from the coming weeks.

3. Team, Investors, and Ecosystem

Predict.fun was founded by Dingaling, an experienced crypto figure with ties to the PancakeSwap ecosystem. However, his track record has also attracted controversy due to past allegations and the underwhelming performance of the boop.fun project.

On the funding side, Predict.fun received early backing from YZi Labs. In late March 2026, the team announced a strategic funding round involving YZi Labs and Susquehanna Crypto, although the amount raised was not disclosed. Earlier, Predict.fun acquired Probable, another prediction market platform backed by PancakeSwap and YZi Labs, to expand its user base and strengthen its position on BNB Chain.
Its biggest competitive advantage lies in distribution. Predict.fun was integrated into Trust Wallet in March 2026 and continued expanding its ecosystem reach. In April, Binance Wallet embedded Predict.fun directly into its app and sponsored gas fees for eligible users. The platform's trading volume reached its yearly peak around the same period.

4. Tokenomics

4.1 Token Allocation and Unlock Schedule

PREDICT has a fixed total supply of 1 billion tokens, with 16% scheduled to unlock at TGE. The team and early investor allocation, representing 36.05% of supply, is fully locked for a 24-month cliff, followed by monthly vesting over 36 months. In practice, this means almost no insider-driven selling pressure during the first two years.

Two milestones stand out on the supply release schedule. In October 2027, circulating supply is expected to increase by approximately 70–80 million tokens as the one-year locked airdrop allocation becomes available. In October 2028, circulating supply is projected to jump from roughly 260 million to 500 million tokens as insider unlocks begin.

4.2 Season 1 Airdrop and Community Controversy

Season 1 allocated 70 million PREDICT, equivalent to 7% of total supply. Recipients have two options: claim 35% immediately and forfeit the remaining 65%, or lock their allocation for 12 months to receive the full amount. For users claiming through Binance, the registration deadline is November 26, 2026, at 09:00 UTC. After that, the system defaults to the one-year lock option.
This structure reduces immediate selling pressure at TGE but has sparked controversy. If all participants choose the instant claim, the community would receive at most 2.45% of total supply from Season 1, even though the broader Ecosystem & Community allocation accounts for 51.95%.
There is also an unresolved allocation question. Of the 16% scheduled to unlock at TGE, 7% is attributed to the airdrop, 4% to liquidity, and 2% to the Prime Sale. That leaves 3% not clearly accounted for in this breakdown.

4.3 FDV and Circulating Market Capitalization

The Prime Sale offered 20 million PREDICT at $0.29 per token, raising $5.8 million and implying a fully diluted valuation (FDV) of $290 million. The pre-market price later climbed as high as $1.99 before retreating to $1.35, implying an FDV of approximately $1.35 billion, almost five times the Prime Sale valuation.

With 160 million tokens in circulation, market capitalization would be approximately $216 million at that price. The market-cap-to-FDV ratio is just 16%, highlighting PREDICT's low-float, high-FDV structure and its associated dilution risk.
According to Bitquery, of 46 major airdropped tokens in 2026 with at least one full month of trading history, 35 fell below their first-week prices, with a median decline of 48%. This serves as a warning about supply-driven selling pressure, although it does not directly predict PREDICT's future performance.

5. What Will Determine PREDICT's Long-Term Outlook?

In the first few weeks, PREDICT's price is likely to be shaped primarily by selling from airdrop recipients and Prime Sale participants. Over the longer term, its investment case comes down to four bigger questions.
Will users stay after the points campaign? Season 1 has ended, reducing the incentive to farm points. If TVL and trading volume hold near current levels over the next four to six weeks, that would be a meaningful sign of genuine platform demand. If capital exits in a pattern similar to Opinion, the earlier growth figures will need to be reassessed.
Is revenue sustainable? Billions of dollars in cumulative trading volume may look impressive, but the more important metric is how much fee revenue the protocol actually retains. That figure currently stands at around $2 million per month. The key question is how much remains once points no longer drive activity, or if Binance Wallet stops subsidizing gas fees.
Will token holders capture any of that cash flow? This is arguably the most important issue for PREDICT holders. Platform growth does not automatically translate into token price appreciation. A concrete mechanism, such as token buybacks, fee sharing, or revenue-generating staking, would be needed to connect protocol economics to the token. None has been announced so far.
Is the underlying infrastructure resilient enough? Predict.fun depends on Venus for yield generation, UMA for outcome resolution, and multiple third-party service providers for day-to-day operations. Each integration creates another potential point of failure. The loss of nearly 400,000 USDT in October demonstrates that these are more than theoretical concerns.

6. Risks That Cannot Be Ignored

6.1 Regulatory Risk: A Structural Challenge for the Entire Sector

The biggest obstacle facing prediction markets may not be technological at all. It may be regulatory. Jurisdictions have yet to reach a consensus on whether event contracts should be classified as financial derivatives or a form of gambling.
Polymarket has faced restrictions in more than 30 jurisdictions, including Switzerland, Singapore, Belgium, and Argentina. In France, gambling regulator ANJ classified the activity as illegal gambling and requested that Polymarket be blocked in July 2026. South Korea took similar action in August.

In the United States, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) maintains that event contracts fall under federal jurisdiction, but it continues to face challenges from individual states. An Ohio court previously rejected the argument that the CFTC held exclusive authority over certain Kalshi sports contracts.
Even so, market demand has continued to expand. The combined monthly trading volume of Kalshi and Polymarket reached $44.8 billion in June 2026, up 75% month over month. The biggest risk, therefore, may be a fragmented market divided by jurisdiction rather than the disappearance of the sector altogether.
For Predict.fun, three concerns stand out. First, operating licenses in key markets have not been verified. Second, the platform is heavily exposed to Asian users, including jurisdictions with strict gambling regulations. Third, it relies on distribution channels such as wallets, apps, and payment partners, all of which could face regulatory pressure.

6.2 A Security Incident Just Before TGE

On October 27, 2026, Predict.fun confirmed that approximately 400,000 USDT had been transferred without authorization from user wallets. According to Blockfence, 29 accounts lost a combined 397,708 USDT across two incidents on October 22 and October 27. The funds were subsequently routed through Tornado Cash.
Notably, the transactions used valid signatures, and there has been no evidence that the platform's trading smart contracts were exploited. The team suspects that a third-party-hosted API documentation page may have been compromised.
According to Onchain Lens, Predict.fun reimbursed the affected users. However, the root cause of the compromised signing permissions remains unclear, and a comprehensive post-mortem report has yet to be published.

6.3 No Clear Token Value Accrual Mechanism

Although Predict.fun generates revenue, the PREDICT token has no announced buyback program, fee-sharing model, or staking mechanism that distributes protocol revenue. This creates a disconnect between growth in platform activity and direct economic value for token holders.
An FDV of around $1.35 billion also looks demanding for a prediction market project under current conditions. According to Memento Research, none of the 28 projects that launched in 2025 with an FDV above $1 billion managed to maintain their initial listing price through the end of that year. While those results cannot be applied directly to PREDICT, they highlight the risks of premium valuations when token value accrual remains undefined.

Conclusion

Predict.fun has several meaningful strengths: a differentiated yield-bearing collateral model, trading fees at record highs, a near-exclusive distribution position within the Binance ecosystem, and one of the more restrictive insider vesting schedules in the market.
Yet PREDICT approaches its listing with several unresolved questions. TVL has halved since the start of the year, activity remains heavily driven by points incentives, the token lacks a clear value-accrual mechanism, its implied valuation is almost five times its Prime Sale level, and the full report on the recent security incident remains unpublished. Above all, prediction markets are still navigating an uncertain regulatory landscape, while Predict.fun has no verified operating licenses and remains heavily exposed to Asian markets.
