JOHOR BAHRU: Pindaan Akta Mara 1966 yang baharu akan dibentangkan di Parlimen tahun ini selepas Jemaah Menteri meluluskan kertas dasar berkaitan pindaan berkenaan.

Pengerusi Mara, Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki berkata beliau diminta Timbalan Perdana Menteri Zahid Hamidi supaya memastikan proses pindaan itu dapat diselesaikan mengikut jadual bagi membolehkan ia dibentangkan tahun ini.

“Peringkat ini ialah peringkat dasar dan drafnya kita akan berikan kepada semua pihak berkepentingan, khususnya kementerian lain untuk dinilai dan juga diperhalusi bagi mendapatkan maklum balas daripada mereka, sebelum kita bawa sekali lagi ke mesyuarat Jemaah Menteri bagi mendapat kelulusan untuk dibentangkan di Parlimen,” katanya.

Beliau berkata demikian kepada pemberita selepas Majlis Zikir Peringatan Haul Asmaulhusna 2026 di Masjid Sultan Iskandar di Bandar Dato Onn.

Turut hadir Zahid serta Pengerusi BN Johor Onn Hafiz Ghazi.

Beliau berkata demikian ketika ditanya mengenai perkembangan terkini berkenaan pindaan Akta Mara 1966.

Setakat ini, kelulusan yang diberikan Jemaah Menteri adalah pada peringkat dasar, manakala draf pindaan akan diedarkan kepada kementerian serta pihak berkepentingan untuk diperhalusi dan mendapatkan maklum balas sebelum dibawa semula ke mesyuarat Jemaah Menteri bagi kelulusan akhir.

Langkah itu penting bagi memastikan Akta Mara yang baharu lebih relevan dan mampu memperkukuh peranan agensi berkenaan dalam agenda pembangunan bumiputera.

Sebelum ini, Asyraf Wajdi dilaporkan berkata Kertas Dasar bagi penggubalan Akta Mara 2026 yang baharu sudah diluluskan oleh Jemaah Menteri.

Akta baharu itu bakal menggantikan Akta Mara 1966, dengan kira-kira 80% perubahan dalam draf cadangan tertumpu kepada aspek tatakelola dan tadbir urus berasaskan piawaian antarabangsa serta amalan tadbir urus korporat yang baik.
