PointFive Launches Pointer, a Conversational AI Agent for Cloud Efficiency

2025/12/11 01:36

PointFive, the Tel Aviv-based pioneer in Cloud Efficiency Posture Management (CEPM), has unveiled Pointer, a context-aware AI agent designed to make cloud cost visibility and optimization accessible to everyone in an organization. With cloud waste still representing nearly 30% of total spend, Pointer gives teams a conversational way to understand cost drivers, workload behavior, and efficiency gaps without relying solely on FinOps specialists or engineers.

“Pointer gives users a direct way to explore their infrastructure, reveal inefficiencies, and improve their efficiency posture through simple natural language,” said Sharon Gross, VP of Product at PointFive. “Our goal is to remove barriers that slow down efficient cloud operations.”

Conversational Insights Across Multi-Cloud Environments

Pointer is built to answer both straightforward and complex questions. Users can ask, “What are my top AWS cost drivers this month?” or “Explain this inefficiency, how can I remediate?”, and receive clear, actionable guidance. Its context-aware design allows the agent to respond based on the page or dataset a user is viewing, eliminating the need for time-consuming navigation across dashboards.

Beyond answering questions, Pointer can help teams act on optimization opportunities, bridging the gap between insight and execution. This makes it a practical tool for engineers, finance leaders, and operations staff alike, creating a shared understanding of cloud efficiency across roles.

Part of a Broader AI-Driven Platform

Pointer is the latest addition to PointFive’s expanding suite of AI tools. Earlier this year, the company introduced AI Prompt Remediation, which delivers ready-to-run code that engineers can apply directly in their existing agentic IDEs, enabling fast fixes without new tools or disruptions.

PointFive also developed the Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, which integrates cost intelligence into engineering workflows. Through LLM-compatible platforms like ChatGPT and Claude, developers can query cost data and receive recommendations within CI/CD pipelines and development environments, making FinOps part of everyday engineering decisions.

Additionally, the AI-Enhanced Analytics Engine, known as Data Explorer, translates natural-language questions into optimized SQL queries, enabling users to explore hidden optimization opportunities and perform deep analyses without specialized skills. Pointer serves as a conversational layer on top of these capabilities, bringing clarity, guidance, and actionability to cloud cost management.

Driving Continuous Cloud Efficiency

Cloud Efficiency Posture Management is at the core of PointFive’s mission. The platform continuously monitors infrastructure, identifies hidden inefficiencies, and enables one-click remediation, delivering 20-40% savings for many customers. Pointer reinforces this vision by democratizing access to insights, allowing teams across finance, engineering, and operations to make faster, smarter decisions.

By combining context awareness, natural language understanding, and actionable guidance, Pointer empowers organizations to proactively address cloud inefficiencies rather than reactively, reducing wasted spend while improving overall operational confidence.

Experience Pointer at Gartner IOCS

Attendees at Gartner IOCS from December 9 to 11 can experience Pointer in action at booth 546 and see firsthand how conversational AI can transform cloud cost management. For organizations seeking a hands-on introduction or evaluating PointFive’s full CEPM platform, representatives encourage visitors to stop by the booth or contact the PointFive sales team for more information.

Solana News: SOL Faces Liquidity Crunch as $500M in Longs Sit on the Brink

The post Solana News: SOL Faces Liquidity Crunch as $500M in Longs Sit on the Brink appeared on BitcoinEthereumNews.com. Key Insights On-chain insights suggest Solana liquidity has thinned to levels typically seen in a bear market. Institutional capital continues to pour into spot Solana ETFs, which have seen $17.72 million in net inflows this week, almost matching last week’s $20.30 million. Roughly $500 million in long positions could be exposed if the price slips just 5.5%. On-chain insights suggest Solana’s liquidity has thinned to levels typically seen in a bear market. According to a top analyst,  roughly $500 million in long positions could be exposed if the price slips just 5.5%. Meanwhile, Bitcoin’s mid-week buying burst lifted most major altcoins. Even so, Solana isn’t sharing in that confidence. Its liquidity continues to pull back, and the overall market remains uneasy, leaving the token on fragile footing despite the recent lift across the sector. Solana Realized Losses Outpace Profits as Liquidity Shrinks Solana’s 30-day average realized profit-to-loss ratio has remained below one since mid-November, according to a Wednesday tweet from on-chain analytics platform Glassnode. A ratio under one shows that realized losses are outpacing profits. This suggests liquidity has contracted to levels typically seen in a bear market. Solana realized profit/loss ratio data by Glassnode A tweet by Altcoin Vector pointed out that Solana is undergoing a full liquidity reset. This signal has marked the start of new liquidity cycles in the past and often leads to bottoming phases. If the current pattern mirrors April’s setup, a market reignition could take about four more weeks, potentially lining up with early January. The reset is being driven by several factors. Realized losses are prompting sell-offs, futures open interest is declining, market-makers are pulling back, and liquidity is fragmenting across trading pools. The mid- to long-term outlook for the market remains slightly bullish, particularly if macroeconomic pressures ease. In the near term,…
