Storj (STORJ) is a decentralized cloud storage platform that allows users to rent out their excess storage space and earn cryptocurrency in return. Storj provids a secure, private, and cost-effective alternative to traditional cloud storage solutions by leveraging blockchain technology and a distributed network of nodes. It facilitates data storage, retrieval, and sharing in a decentralized and encrypted manner.  A decentralized storage Storj uses end-to-end encryption to ensure that data remains secure and private during storage and transfer. Only the data owner holds the encryption keys. Data uploaded to the Storj network is split into smaller pieces (shards) and distributed across multiple nodes. This enhances data security and redundancy. Data is encrypted on the user’s device before it’s uploaded to the network, ensuring that only the user has access to the decryption keys. Storj originally used the Counterparty protocol with SJCX tokens. However, the project migrated to the Ethereum blockchain and the native STORJ token. STORJ tokens are used for payments within the Storj ecosystem. Users pay for storage and bandwidth using STORJ tokens, and node operators are rewarded with tokens for providing storage. Users who provide storage space to the network are rewarded with STORJ tokens. This incentivizes participation and contributes to the availability of storage resources. Disclaimer.

A decentralized storage

Storj uses end-to-end encryption to ensure that data remains secure and private during storage and transfer.

The U.S. OCC has warned Wall Street about the "de-banking" of industries such as digital assets, calling such practices "illegal."

PANews reported on December 11th, citing CoinDesk, that President Trump's actions against the "debanking" of controversial industries such as digital assets have prompted the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) to release a new report. The report further confirms past practices and warns that banks suspected of involvement could face penalties. This brief OCC report reviewed nine of the largest national banks in the United States, concluding that "between 2020 and 2023, these banks developed public and private policies that restricted certain industries from accessing banking services, including requiring escalating reviews and approvals before providing financial services." The report states that some large banks set higher barriers to entry for controversial or environmentally sensitive businesses, or activities that contradict the banks' own values. Financial giants such as JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, and Citigroup are highlighted, with links to their past public policies, particularly those concerning environmental issues. The report states, "The OCC intends to pursue accountability for any illegal 'debanking' activities by these banks, including referring related cases to the Attorney General." However, it remains unclear which specific laws these activities may have violated.
