Supra (SUPRA) tokenomics

The SUPRA token serves as the unified utility token for the Supra MultiVM Layer 1 ecosystem. Its tokenomics are designed to prioritize long-term sustainability, community engagement, and ecosystem growth.

Issuance Mechanism

Supra recently updated its token supply strategy in preparation for its Token Generation Event (TGE). The project increased its maximum token supply from 10 billion to 100 billion tokens. This adjustment was made to ensure greater accessibility for the community and to provide more significant growth potential as the network scales.

Allocation Mechanism

The distribution of SUPRA tokens is heavily focused on community and ecosystem development. Key components of the allocation include:

• Community Airdrops: Supra conducted a massive "Countdown to Blast Off" campaign, which onboarded over 500,000 KYC-verified users. These users, along with participants from the October 2023 Public Token Sale, are primary recipients of the token distribution.
• Ecosystem Fund: A $100 million ecosystem fund was launched alongside the "Super dApp Showdown" to attract developers and foster the creation of decentralized applications on the Supra L1.
• Strategic Reserves: Tokens are set aside to support the long-term research and development breakthroughs led by the Supra team.

Usage and Incentive Mechanism

The SUPRA token is integrated into the core functions of the Layer 1 blockchain, providing utility across several areas:

• Network Fees: SUPRA is used to pay for transaction fees and local fee markets within Supra Containers.
• Staking and Security: The token is used to secure the network through staking, supporting the Moonshot consensus mechanism and the "Tribes and Clans" network architecture.
• Oracle Services: As a vertically integrated L1, Supra provides native oracle services, dVRF, and cross-chain bridges, all of which utilize the native token for operation and incentivization.
• Supra Containers: Developers can design their own composable ecosystems (Containers) with custom governance and token economies, all while leveraging the underlying security and performance of the Supra L1.

Locking Mechanism and Unlocking Time

Supra has implemented a conservative vesting strategy to ensure market stability and align the interests of the team with the long-term success of the protocol.

• Team Tokens: There are no team tokens unlocked at the TGE.
• Gradual Release: Following the TGE, team and contributor tokens are subject to gradual releases over time. This prevents supply shocks and ensures that the core development team remains committed to the project's evolution.
• Community Claiming: Participants in the "Blast Off" campaign are given options to select how they wish to claim their tokens at the TGE, allowing for a structured entry of community tokens into the circulating supply.
